Re: Random Discussions
Don't Chicago and New York City have some of the strictest gun laws in America?
Re: Random Discussions
ban guns. take the guns away. if people dont wanan give their guns up, charge them and throw them in prison. America has the highest incarcerated per capita of all first world countries so it shouldnt be an issue.
Tackle the problem before another 18 kids die and you guys are using whataboutism about religion and other stupid bullshit.

Re: Random Discussions
nothings gonna change and kids are gonna keep dying. thats the unfortunate reality. In 100 years there will be 3-5 different republics based out of America and some might ban guns and some wont. thats probably the best case scenario.

Re: Random Discussions
Do you want to see a civil war on your doorsteps? That is what happens and a lot of military people would not obey orders when it comes to this.
Guns aren't the problem.

Re: Random Discussions
Texas congressman said that the school shooter was apprehended 4 years ago when he said he was going to shoot up a school when he was a senior.
The one thing that needs to be fixed in background checks is that they need to be able to look at juvenile records

Just watched that press briefing, and WOW! 19 officers were in the hallway and waited to breach the room for close to 50 minutes. And they had 3 ballistic shields as well.
Officers were on scene in 2 minutes, shot at and they backed off after an officer or two were hurt by gunfire

Was he alone in the room or were their other kids in the room?GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 12:48 pm Just watched that press briefing, and WOW! 19 officers were in the hallway and waited to breach the room for close to 50 minutes. And they had 3 ballistic shields as well.
I keep seeing people flipping out about how cops stayed outside and didn't run in but then also seeing reports that cops were in within 4 minutes and had the suspect cornered in a room, and it took 1 hour to finish. Not sure which is true as both are obviously very different stories.

Re: Random Discussions
Kids were still in the room. There were two rooms that were joined together kind of like a Jack and Jill bathroom, so you had a door to each room on the hallway side and then a door in the middle connecting the rooms. Kids were still alive in the room calling 911 when this was going on. Cops are outside in the hallway waiting for equipment to breach but the DPS officer said they had three shields there by 12:15 or 12:20, and they still didn't reach until 12:50 or 12:57 is when he was killed. The DPS officer said the ISD police chief was the officer in charge in the hallway and he decided that it was no longer an active shooter and it was a barricaded suspect. The only problem with that line of thinking is that when some of these kids called 911 the operator could hear gunshots. So my guess is he was going back and forth between room 111 and 112 and when he wasn't in the room they were calling. There are so many questions that need to be answered after that press conferenceshel311 wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 1:41 pmWas he alone in the room or were their other kids in the room?GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 12:48 pm Just watched that press briefing, and WOW! 19 officers were in the hallway and waited to breach the room for close to 50 minutes. Yeah doesn't make much sense at all. Almost everything initially reported the day of the shooting from the police was just wrong and they've dove into some serious damage control in the most recent briefings.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 2:31 pmKids were still in the room. Unless he managed to murder all those people within a couple minutes you'd think the police in hallway would have continued to hear gunshots and knew it was still an active shooter in the classroom and still chose not to go in the classrooms.

Tickets to imax this week.
Favorite movie ever for me so I have the bar very low and keeping my expectations down.
Was torn when the sequel was announced but the trailers look amazing.

Re: Random Discussions
It's not a bad movie, but if you're expecting anything more than what the first one was you'll be disappointed. The flying scenes are awesome
