Actually... he's been quite humble after his fights. He openly admits that he hypes to sell tickets.

I am actually pretty excited to see this one. If Diaz looks like the Johnson fight Diaz then Connor, and his fans, are in for a rude awakening.
I think he looked pretty spot on. Only got hit with just a couple of punches. I think Diaz was cut during the stare-down before the opening bell. The look on Connor's face when Diaz connected with that first 1-2 combo was like, "Oh fuck, I bit off more than I can chew!"

I haven't seen what the judges score cards looked like. Note even sure where you can find those if they do release them in the event of a stoppage. I don't think anyone won the 1st round. The only "significant" strike that landed was a overhand right by Tate. Holm was lucky to get out of the second round. 3rd and 4th round I thought were boring but most likely a Holm round.

Those last two fights made the card for me. I absolutely loved it! Did you see the look on Uncle Dana's face when he put the belt around her waist? He gave her a pat on the shoulder and then hurriedly walked out of the octagon like he was about to shit himself. Then the cherry on the sundae was Diaz beating the golden boy. I don't want to hear about the weight from the Connor homers, just like I wouldn't have wanted to hear about the short training camp had Diaz lost. Diaz completely outclassed Connor, just took him a second to get into the groove.

Connor said he is humble in victory and defeat but he says that he probably shouldn't have taken the fight at 170. That's an excuse where I come from. And no, he shouldn't have taken the fight at 170. I thought he was stupid for doing that.

His comments came across as making an excuse to me. He seemed humbled by the defeat though, which is good. It may be a good thing for him. He needs to get into a camp where he can learn the wrestling and BJJ game. He would be almost unbeatable if he could shore up those aspects of his game, and stayed at 145

Uncle Dana says Lawlor and Nate make a lot of sense!

That would be an entertaining fight. I think Lawlor is coming to the end of his career. He has been in some brawls and been knocked around a lot during his career. Could Nate be the one to "Stockton Slap" him out of the belt? I think if he looks like he did his last 2 fights it can be done!

His ground game is shit. I'm pretty sure I've said this before. I won $855 on Nate. The odds were just silly. Anybody at 145 or 155 that tries to stand and bang with McGregor is a moron.

The UFC is trying to push fans away with this 200 card.

Connor is fighting Diaz again, at welterweight. Don't see this going any other way, maybe a 3rd or 4th round stoppage instead of a second. I see Diaz possibly knocking Connor out though.

Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar is the co-main event for the interim belt

Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne
Johny Hendricks vs. Kelvin Gastelum
Derek Brunson vs. Gegard Mousasi
Joe Lauzon vs. Diego Sanchez
Jim Miller vs. Takanori Gomi at lightweight.

Overall, this is a sub-par card in my opinion. It's a good card for something other than the main summer card and it being #200.

Jim Miller and Gomi or Joe Lauzon/Diego should be the headliner of the undercard. And the other bout just under that. Put two more worthy fights on this card. Maybe some title eliminator bouts. Where the hell has been the womans BW been? Cat Zigano hasn't been seen in forever it seems like.

UFC 198 is a good card, especially the top half. Love seeing Hall vs Spider, two dynamic strikers going at it.

Can't wait for the UFC Fox 19 card. Nergomedov and Ferguson is going to be fun. Love watching both fighters and Ferguson has been on a tear lately, 10-1 in UFC with 7 stoppages.

I think we've got vastly different opinions here. That is a great card. It might not be the super card that everyone was dreaming of, but it's a damn good card that is going to have a good range of fantastic finishes and technical fighting. I think you're just comparing it to what everyone hyped 200 to be.

That's possible.
I don't see the relevence of Diego, Lauzon, Miller or Gomi (none are ranked in the top 10). Don't get me wrong, huge fan of Lauzon and Diego but they are all gate keepers at this point in their career. Not worthy of "THE" card of the year. They could have done so much better with this card, just my opinion. They really needed a WBW fight on the main card if they want to still keep the women relevant in the UFC. Besides the title fight and the Nunes/polish girl, who else has fought that is relevant? I can't remember any to be honest.

I still think the UFC chopped it's nose off in spite of its face with the Connor/Diaz fight. There should be absolutely zero reason why there wasn't a Edgar or Aldo match here. I think Aldo deserves a chance for what he has done in that weight division before Edgar, but now they get to settle who is next in the cage.

I hope Diaz absolutely DESTROYS Conor. I like McBoastful but he isn't as good as he thinks he is.

What do you think happens with Jones? I watched the video when he was pulled over. I thought the cop was a condescending asshole. I would not be surprised to see the charges dropped, mainly because the cop said the feeling was mutual about not liking Jones. A good defense lawyer could say he had it out for him right from the get go. And the ticket about the cover around the plate....c'mon! It obviously still had temp tags and most likely the dealers cover around that (just going off a hunch there). A guy I work with was a cop before starting to do the UAV thing and he even said the cop was going a little over board and was throwing the book at him.

Just seen that Sage Northcut vs Enrique Marin was added to UFC 200. Marin is a submission specialist (5 subs in 8 victories), but he hasn't beaten anyone noteworthy.

Hoping too see some more top 10-15 talent on the card. UFC 100 had two titles on the line, with some of the biggest drawing power during that time (GSP, Brock, Mir) as well as the Hendo/Bisping TUF Coaches fight.

UFC 200 has an interim title fight, where the title holder is fighting on the same card. Never heard of an interim title fight when the fighter is still fighting. Just boggles the ole nugget on that one

Just got in from vacation late last night... haven't been able to keep up. I did see the video and I agree, I think he's going to get off w/o any charges, which will also nullify the probation issue. All of that said, it doesn't matter, Cormier is out. Curveball! :-)

I need to get caught up on the rest of the MMA happenings now.

When the UFC started the woman's division they had some of the better fights on every card. That's why I want to watch them. They definitely need to do some talent scouting though.

Just like in boxing, there are very few fights below 145 lbs that I actually enjoy watching. I would guess that the number of women's fights that I've thought were good is less than 10, since the division's creation. Part of it probably ties to the threat of the instant KO. That threat is greatly diminished at lower weight classes. So for me to be intrigued by a match, I either need to see someone that is a master at technique (Holm v Rousey; Demetrius Johnson) or someone that brings some kind of excitement or energy (John Dodson). Unfortunately, there just aren't that many people that fit the mold.

The card is getting a little better. Nunes vs Tate. I think if they can add one more fight with title implications this card would be stacked. Right now it's good in the sense of how these fights could impact the divisions. I think it's great in the sense of how entertaining the fights could potentially be.

My #1 interest right now is a fight getting booked for Khabib. Tony Ferguson pulled out of the 4/16 fight against him earlier this week and the UFC hasn't found a replacement yet. Khabib called out basically everyone and the only 2 people to have allegedly stepped up are BJ Penn, which no one really wants to see and Donald Cerrone, because he's knows a guy. :-) It sounds like there's some kind of hold up with the Cerrone fight though. I've said it for a long time, Khabib has the ability to be the champ for a long, long time... but this recent layoff and now another delay is very annoying as a fan. He shouldn't push off the fight to UFC 200 because he's Muslim and observes Ramadan, which means that he is fasting from sunrise to sunset, which is incredibly hard on the body while trying to train properly. Hopefully the Cerrone fight gets done even if it's at 170, which Khabib is open to.
