The difference is you don't have a free daycare option.

I think it worked because shel always comments that my 2 year old communicates better than his 3 year old.

Sample size though.
Well technically, I said better than 1 of mine lol. My other one speaks with bigger sentences and words than I use...though that may not be saying much.

Gotta factor in the Cajun background too. Shel's kids would sound like Farmer Fran without the daycare.

Not quite as much as I thought...unless you went to board them for $42k/year:

I'd imagine most of the athletes get a very, very special "scholarship" for that school. Cathedral High School in Indy and La Lumiere Prep in northern Indiana are notorious for their "scholarships" and how those scholarships sometimes seems to dry up when someone isn't quite averaging enough points meeting academic expectations.

Not a fan of the La Lumiere staff. They were in town a few weeks back for a large high school tournament and the entire staff came off as a bunch of arrogant assholes.

Private HS out here are expensive but if you can play any sport you do not pay a dime to get in the school. Private HS out here recruit like colleges now and give out "scholarships" to incoming 8th graders. It's almost borderline pathetic seeing grown men at youth football games recruiting 8th graders.

This LSU-Florida game is entertaining as hell. LSU just ran off three straight dunks featuring a between the legs dunk on a steal and breakaway.

Anderson still out and now London Perrantes busted up with a broken nose and concussion. I may need to perform a human sacrifice to appease the gods.

slow pace like them in the tourney is so hard to win with. same thing that hurts Wisconsin's chances every year.

Virginia has top D in country which helps but when you get into less possessions per game in a tourney vs other quality teams on neutral courts, more flukes can happen given the lesser amount of possessions.

i love WIsco and Virginia, i hope one of them pull it off. they are both really good. college hoops is just a really flukey game due to the shot clock and the 1 and out format.

^ I do agree. By nature, UVA's defense limits the amount of possessions by forcing so many teams deep into the shot clock. The loss of Anderson has really put the brakes on UVA's offense. He may only score 14ppg but because of his 3pt ability (48% for the year) he opens up the floor for everybody. They also run more when he's on the court.

The offense has been stagnant and downright ugly since his injury. They have won because of their defense but they are certainly more vulnerable. Unless both he and LP return to pre-injury status UVA may go out early.

pace of play really can make it difficult to grasp how good a team or player is offensively. 14 ppg on a team that gets 50 possession per game isn't the equivalent of a player that gets 14 ppg on a team with 65 possessions per game.

UVA actually in the top 10% off efficiency in the nation despite their low point totals. Wisconsin is #1 in offensive efficiency despite low point totals. i doubt any talking head outside the few stat dorks would say Wisconsin is the top offense and i often hear people talk about how good their D is when in reality their D isn't even good. the low possessions just makes the point total seem impressive.

regardless of possessions, UVA defense is the best, the fact they play slow just makes it even more exaggerated. you can't fuck up vs them but in the tourney if a team hits a few threes early it can make them vulnerable.

i always have Wisconsin going far cause Bo is the best and i love their #'s but their pace always kills them, i'm assuming Virginia will be the same.

Who are the small school surprises going to be?

Gonzaga looks like they may be similar to their other nice runs. They look good at times, but also look very bad. The fact they were down 12 to St. Mary's the other night and then came back an won by 10 was interesting. That Kentucky transfer is pretty good, but can they beat big conference opponents? Only loss was Arizona in OT in Arizona. I'm afraid if they continue to win they will be a top 4 seed and lose in the 2nd or 3rd round.

And Virginia is so tough defensively. It would be nice if the Pac12 had defensive teams like that, I hate watching games because of their lack of emphasis on defense. Plus the Cougs suck as usual so I don't watch as often as some of you do.

Been watching more nba this year and less college all because of the shot clock. Even 5 seconds less would help but 35 secs is just too damn long imo.

VCU has a style that works well in the tourney but the loss of Weber may keep them from making a run.

Wiltjer is terrific offensively. Defensively, he's God awful. Love the kid, but opponents simply attack through whoever he is guarding.
