Re: Trade Thread
We tinkered with the voting system in Niddler's league... it's a mess, bad idea.

Re: Trade Thread
Yeah, the voting was ok, but I like this idea better personally.
And ryan just confirmed that he is allowing unlimited human-human trades until the trade deadline, but they still go through the trade committee obviously.

Braves send:
SP Jose Fernandez (95 ovr, 21 years old, A potential)
2B Howie Kendrick (83 ovr, 30 years old, B potential)
CP Aaron Loup (79 ovr, 26 years old, C potential)
Padres send:
3B Evan Longira (92 ovr, 28 years old, A potential)
CP Kenley Jansen (90 ovr, 26 years old, A potential)
SP Matt Moore (84 ovr, 24 years old, B potential)
Note: Padres have Omar Infante who plays about 8 positions (including 3B) so the mismatch of positions won't be a problem. Also, the game showed "equal value" on this deal even without me adding Loup, and almost fair just for their three for Fernandez.

You are only giving them Fernandez in return for 3 players that are better then the 2 you are giving up. All of which are 28 or younger. The Padres gain nothing in this deal in my eyes. They lose all the way around.

Yep, because getting an SP who is miles better than any they have is nothing.

And I am not saying you are not giving them nothing.
But when I look at it, I see:
You are giving up a 95 for a 92
Then an 83 for a 90
Then a 79 for an 84.
You have to look at the impact to their team.
They are going from a 90 to a 79 CP.
They are gaining a great SP, but losing 1 hell of a 3B.
You are taking their top 2 players in Longoria and Jensen.
Their next best 3B is a 71.
I understand you are giving up SP Fernandez, I understand you are willing to bet anything that he will become a 99 OVR.
You can make any argument you want, but nothing will change my mind. Sorry.
I feel the impact to them is too great.

Omar Infante is an 82 overall, and plays 3B. He moves to 3B, Kendrick plays 2B. I mentioned that in the initial post.

Re: Trade Thread
I'm also going to vote no. While I weigh a great SP higher than a great hitter, it's not that significant of a difference. The Padres are already very depleted in terms of hitting, as Longoria is their only real offensive power. (Konerko is 37 now) Moore, while a big OVR difference from Fernandez, is currently their #2 SP and with any progression, will be their #1 SP next year. So they are really only getting an upgrade at the #1 SP spot, while taking massive hits at 3B and CP.jsence2 wrote:Braves send:

Just throwing it out there, so you can see my thoughts, but what I would consider fair would be something like Fernandez-Kendrick for Longoria-Moore. I still don't think it would be a smart move for SD, but I think from a talent/age perspective, that's a fair deal. Fernandez-Loup for Longoria-Jansen is probably pushing it and would take a lot of consideration.
Obviously some of these CPU teams suffer from how they drafted... some were just horrible. But there's always the perspective that Longoria was selected before Fernandez. Personally I don't think that matters, due to the CPU AI, but there's that also.

I agree in most part here.
Fernandez/Kendrick for Longoria/Moore would work. Still not great move for SD, but more in line with a fair deal.
Although, I don't agree with you on the Fernandez/Luop for Longoria/Jansen, Still to far apart. As Jenson is a 90 and Loup is a 79. Fernandez at 95 does not make up for the 11 point difference and the fact that Longoria was drafted ahead of Fernandez. Longoria is there only true hitter, and may be there best fielder as well. Infante/? is a downgrade to Longoria/Infante in my eyes.

I wouldn't trade Jose Fernandez alone for those 3 guys

It didn't go through. I'm guessing Niddler / Ryan were experimenting or Ryan just nixed it.

Re: Trade Thread
Yeah, that was me playing around. I asked Ryan to deny it immediately.
I told him, I wish the game had a way of just seeing if it would be accepted before it actually being accepted.
And I also wish that the trades that were denied, would show as denied instead of as accepted.
If you look at the players, they are all still on their original teams.
I know I will have to give up much more to get Posey.

Re: Trade Thread
You can get a pretty good idea of how good the trade is if you go to the website and put it in there. The meter shows you how favorable it is for each side. While it's not perfect, it's better for figuring that out than the console is.

Gotcha. I saw it last night in game and then today as "completed" and was like "um....."

Yeah, the meter, it exists on the console, but even if it shows as even, sometimes the other team says it is unfair.ReignOnU wrote:You can get a pretty good idea of how good the trade is if you go to the website and put it in there. Right... the meter online shows you how far favorable you are to your team. I don't think the meter on the console does.
