Question about Colorado's Schedule

I looked up Colorado's Real Life schedule for this upcoming season and they have 13 regular season games listed. One of the games is against fellow Pac 12 team Cal Bears listed as a "non-conference" game.

With CSU being Colorado's annual rival game and this "non-conference" game against Cal, that only leaves me with room to schedule 1 game with a user of my choice if I'm limited to 12 games like the rest of the NDL....or can I schedule 13 like the Buffs will have IRL? Or maybe lose the Cal game since it's "non-conference" vs a conference opponent?

Just curious what the rest of you might think of this situation.

The one big question I have is: Why is the Cal game labeled as non-conference? I've been searching for an answer but have yet to find one.

Kinda strange to play a conference opponent as a non-conference game ain't it??

Edit: Finally found an answer that satisfied me and it's pretty much what I was thinking all along.

Yeah they're finishing up a home and home series that they had book before the expansion took place.
