Anyone here getting it?
https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck

I reserved it for $5, but not sure yet.

It is a portable PC. a legit PC in a Nintendo Switch type package.

I am thinking if it will run OOTP, Emulation Station, use VLC and Plex, I will be pretty happy.
And all of those should run on Linux just fine. And OOTP runs on Steam now, so it should run on the Steam Deck without a problem.

The screen may be small for OOTP, but you can dock the Deck using any USB-C Hub so I can hook it to a monitor at work and run OOTP right on it. No more need for TeamViewer.

Then you can play the majority of Steam games on it.

Anyone else plan on getting one and using it for anything?

I am thinking about it for OOTP to be portable since you can run it through Steam.

My reservation says shipping is July-September, so we will see.
I am actually buying a nintendo switch lite today for $100 and going to put android on it and try to run steam and see how that goes.
See if it can handle OOTP.

Nice, never heard about the switch thing, that is cool.

Ive been trying to decide if i want to get a new laptop, a desktop or the Steam Deck all three have their pros and cons tho.

The Steam deck would pretty much be a fuck around machine for me. If It can handle OOTP, great, I have it on the go then and then Steam games, etc.
The switch thing, I found out only certain serial numbers can be modded to run Android, so I am not sure I want to try to find one of those when then, it would technically be nothing more than a glorified cell phone.

I already have the Z Fold 3 that opens up to a 7.6 inch screen when unfolded which is bigger than the Switch and Switch Lite.

I have a desktop at home, but that is primarily so it can be used as a media server for Plex.
