Welcome to the 2083 season thread. Once again congrats to Bowie on winning his second title in 3 seasons. I think he will be right in the mix again this season.

I am still going to sim tomorrow but not as early. Expect the sim to be around noon CST or so. I know its late but it is just Arby and we split it in to two sims so everyone will still have 36 hours to get an export in between the two sims

Draft timer will go to 30 minutes for all rounds this season. The NDL gives a week from pool release to draft time so if you have no list and are not on to draft we are no longer sitting around for an hour

Other than that nothing new that I can think of. Like always if you have a winter topic poll post it in the winter meetings section but please check with me or Neurotic and make sure what you are asking for is actually possible.

Don't make one to get rid of coaches, it ain't happening.

Diamond Dogs secure future and past while raking in the hardware

Moose Jaw (AP) - Today the Moose Jaw Diamond Dogs announced the dual signing of Ruben Herrerra and Danny Russell to identical 5 year contracts which will see both in an MJ uniform until (potentially) age 33. The new age Bash Bros have been tearing the ball off the cover for the last few years. Herrerra had a breakout year with 45 HR and 125 RBI. Russell put up 6.7 WAR and lead the AL with an almost .400 OBP while missing 1/3 of the season.

The Diamond Dogs also re-signed long time aces Angel Ruiz and Hsuang-Tsung Huang to new contracts after the pair both had their $20M options for 2083 declined. Huang spent the year in the bullpen and resigned for $1.25M for 2 years. Ruiz, meanwhile, had a throwback campaign in the rotation putting up 5 rWAR and a career high 153 ERA+. Ruiz will make $3M for the next 2 years.

Moose Jaw wasn't done for the week as they raked in 5 awards. 2B Djodja Todorovic (who signed a 1 yr deal to avoid arbitration) won his 2nd consecutive gold glove at 2B. Herrerra and Russell picked up their 3rd and 4th Silver Sluggers respectivtly. Youngster Pedro Ramos picked up his first award while having a breakout year earing 6.1 WAR solely at the DH position. Ramos lead the AL in SLG, OPS, and wRC+.

And finally, newly retired manager Mitch Hicks picked up Manager of the Year on his way into the sunset after his one and only year managing in the NDL with the Diamond Dogs. Hicks was 66.

Thanks. Now on to a random thing I just discovered. I can't promote any of my minor league hitting coaches to my vacant hitting coach spot in the big leagues. Pretty weird lol.

Maybe need to wait for tomorrow when FA file as that is when budgets really shift to 2083. Not sure but just a guess
