Some teams go way over the minor league roster limits. Should we get this back in order?

I will think of something but his ones a little trickier. Maybe something like a fine if you don’t have it set by opening day and again by rollover. That way you have all offseason to sort out how you want it and post draft thru end of regular season to get it right. Let me sleep on it and I’ll post something tomorrow

Such a rookie! Should be in the winter meetings section.
And I agree with Corey, start finding people. I can understand +10 but +170 is just ridiculous

Nowhere close to being tricky. Most of us follow the maximums all year long.
You have 30 days after draft to get your shit in order, after that you get fined

i don't think this should fall on billy if we do this.
i think we should all self police ourselves and others in the league and if we notice stuff absurd like RI then we call it out and let billy know and then he can handle the discipline/fine on his own.
we definitely should be doing something tho, imo

Why? Whats the point? You dont give a fuck if I have 5 people on each of my minor teams, but you care if I have 50 players at each level? I shouldn't be penalized for properly managing my minor league teams while others skate by with zero effort. You're literally discouraging me from putting time into my team(s). Instead of fixing the rule, we're forcing a creation of some bullshit fine? It makes no sense.

It is a stupid rule that serves no purpose. I don't get the point of it at all.

Regardless of how one votes, having 300+ guys in your Farm is not "properly managing" your Farm.

Yeah you're right. I should just leave the CPU create 40 ghost players for each of my minor league teams. That seems to be the consensus on how to handle things here.

That's fine, it also is irrelevant to what I said.
You can't claim you properly run your Farm when...you don't.

why is it one or the other? Meaning why is it having 5 guys or 50 guys? just have the proper amount.
That said, i need to clean my minors as well....but that's on me. if i get fined its my fault.
i do think having tons of guys who should be in the free agent pool and not on rosters dilutes our minors by keeping guys 'alive' in the free agent pool when the game would probably retire them

Or you could just have the correct number of people at each level. You are going to the extreme on both sides. This one isn't hard, and you definitely shouldnt get all butt hurt because you were called out

I know Neurotic and I have had our discussions about the minor leagues and the ghost players, etc. but I see his point to this.
If you don't care that I have 5 guys in my A team, why do you care if I have 50?
I guess, one answer I could think of is that this is a way for teams to hoard players.
As a commissioner, I may not care if you don't care about your minors only having 5 teams, but I would care if you have 50 and are keeping players from being available for other teams to have?
That is the only thing I could think of for now.
I agree with you guys that if you are managing your minors properly, you will be at the number you should be at, but I was just commenting on his original post about why put this rule in place.
With that said, I will get my minors cleaned up.
I started filling it with a bunch of guys and want to move them around to balance everything out to see if my minors get better per Neurotic and my original discussion how 20/20 guys are better than ghost players for my minor league teams.

There are roster limits for a reason in the game.
Use them and properly manage your minors.
If you dont want to manage them, click "Ask AI to set up complete minor league system" and be done.
This is an easy one.

To Neurotic's point, would a team get fined if they only have 10 guys on their AA team?
