The idea here is that instead of placing size limits on the minor league rosters, you put age restrictions in place. This helps players flow up the organization, generally helps to keep talent in line, and restricts hoarding of players at certain levels.

Thoughts on restriction settings:
AAA - No limit
AA - 26
A - 25
SA - 23
R - 22

Why? It accomplishes nothing.

Part of your justification in your original post was that it would prevent hoarding at certain levels when in fact eliminating organization size limits would just see hoarding go up ten fold as people would have 300+ players 25 and under. You yourself said you keep players around for the off chance they hit the talent change randomness jackpot and become something.

without restrictions you'd be a fool to not have 500 guys on your rookie league squad even if 475 of them never play

i'm for some version of the age restrictions. i think if 1 or 2 guys slip up or have a birthday or whatever its not a big deal

I mean the game itself has a restriction on roster size (I believe its 200) per team. I dont go out and actively sign FAs in order to hit caps on players, I just dont release "bums" for no reason. There arent enough players in the file for me to keep 200 players on my rookie and S A team consistently even if I wanted to (assuming every team did the same). You're basically restricting roster size because some players would rather not have to worry about their minor leagues creating a disadvantage for those that put the time and effort into managing them properly.

Its also something every team can do. Its not some advantage I'm trying to create for myself.

Would probably still need the 163 player limit total if you're not doing a limit for each Farm team.

never understood the hoarding player thought..when their stats and how they produce help their ratings. if you have a ton of dudes not playing, theyre not gonna suddenly get better.

It's called talent change randomness because.... It's random. Has nothing to do with stats and how they produce

You can horde players now. Nobody is actively enforcing the roster restrictions. Do you see players doing it now? Getting rid of this arbitrary rule isnt suddenly going to change that lol.

Removing the roster restrictions doesn’t mean someone will be able to horde players. There are in game mechanics that keep this from happening (rule 5, option years, etc).
