For the first time since EA Sports canceled the NCAA Football series after 2013, a new college football video game will be on the market in 2020, according to a press release from IMackulate Vision Gaming, a company founded by cousins Alex and Kameron Lewis. If you’re online a lot, you’ve seen most of these words before, though the date is a new detail. The company plans to release the game on PlayStation, XBox, and Steam platforms.

From the release:

Gridiron Champions will offer a unique experience to gamers by allowing them the opportunity to customize player uniforms, stadiums, fan atmosphere and recreate pageantry though this unique college football experience.

[...] Over 1,300 gamers have purchased Gridiron Champions as pre-launch item since May 2017.

[...] IMV Gaming is working on next steps such as discussions with game developers in the manufacturing partner selection process as well as the future games for 2021 which include a potentially licensed version of Gridiron Champions and potentially a college basketball experience.

After working for over two years towards the building the innovative and unique concepts of Gridiron Champions, IMV Gaming joins hands with professional athletes Oakland Raiders’ Vadal Alexander along with Brooklyn Nets’ Spencer Dinwiddie as early founding investors.

IVG says the game will have 126 created teams. Users would — wink, wink — be able to customize teams, rosters, and more, meaning eventually, a robust gamer community could create versions of enough real-life, NCAA teams to just about fill out an FBS-like league.

Obviously, those of us who grew up on Bill Walsh and NCAA Football would prefer to see a proven company make a game with actual teams, but if a new company were somehow able to make a quality football simulation (not easy!) and empower users to fill in uniforms and names and stuff, that’d be the next best thing. Let’s see what the new guys got.

I bet gameplay will be, uhh, bad.

I'm a huge rugby fan, and I'm always excited when somebody makes a new rugby game. Then I play the game and it's.... brutal. This sort of looks like the college football version of that.

when I was a kid, i got my hands on like Cricket 2005 and i was pumped to play that shit.. needless to say it was shit

Why I posted it in the random discussions and didn't give it it's own.

But it will be interesting. They want to offer a lot of customizations.
I said, give it a month after release, if it ends up being a good game and you will be able to import NCAA rosters as someone will create them.

i would play a tecmo league if we had a modded rom, i dont give a fuckkk.

I am debating donating $60, get my name put on a team and get a digital copy of the game.

Not sure how much confidence I have I need them, lol. I went to donate $60 and there is no name field.
Asks my address but no name.
I messaged them and asked told them there is a brand ambassador field, but no name field.
Their response was, you don’t have to put anything in the brand ambassador field.
I respnded telling them that I figured that, but there is still no name field.
How will they know which name to name my digital player in the game?
They ask you for positions and such for your player, but no name.

Thought it was funny.
Will be interesting to see how this game turns out.

all you have to do is look at buddys tricep in the rendered images to know this game will suck. And it comes out in 2020 when PS5 will probably be rumored to be out? hard pass.

The pics are not accurate. They haven’t even really developed the game yet.

I own and play Don Bradman Cricket 18 as well as Casey Powell Lacrosse. I love obscure sports video games.

I will definitely buy it, and we all know someone will do the fixes and redo the rosters and team names for download. All the teams will be on there, and I can enjoy my COLLEGE FOOTBALL again. Dynasty time! It will never be like the previous EA Sports versions, but it has been a long time without College Football, and it sucks!

This will be total and complete shit.
