Owners

As we have had a fun offseason discussing financials and other great things pertaining to money, I have recognized an issue that needs to be rectified immediately on my end.

Situation: Owners are giving or taking away sums of cash to their teams without control of how much or any rhyme or reason why.

Background: As a league we cannot choose our owners and cannot control their personality in what they do and do not give financially.

Assessment: Teams have been receiving large sums of money, having sums of money taken away, or not receiving anything at all at no control of owner actions. This was never caught during rollover as it happens AFTER the new file comes out and I do not go through each team individually once the rollover is complete.

Recommendation:Since I cannot neutralize each and every owner, during the rollover process I will need to manually remove the amounts given or taken away by our owners to get our true cash on hand from the season.

Example: Montreal ended 2045 -$186mil, gave up -$87mil in revenue sharing but his owner gave him...$246million in cash giving him a starting balance of $-28million

There are other examples of teams getting $65million, teams owners taking away millions, and most not receiving or giving anything.

This will be put into affect this upcoming offseason as guys have currently made deals that have affected their finances.

Moral of the story. Montreal's owner is fucking loaded!

Instead of manually doing it, is there not a simple setting to turn off the option for owners infusing cash?

I'm obviously assuming there's no setting to regulate it, but based on what you found, it is clearly out of hand and something needs to be done to address it.

I've looked and haven't seen anything as that was definitely my first thought as I don't want to do more math and prolong rollover

Is there anyone historically that has never gotten anything taken or given by owners?

Maybe a one time fix of everyone's owner to the same fiscal personality would make that work.

1. Owner's giving money started on '17
2. The owner's fiscal personalities seem to not have much to do with it. My guy is charitable, yours generous, I don't even know which is better/worse? But at any rate, I had a better financial year than Montreal. Montreal got $246mil and I got $553k.

Something is definitely broken there.

I am guessing because I had more debt he took it upon himself to cover that cost, I also completed all my goals throughout the season except for one, and got a very good report. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

This definitely has something to do with it after reading up on owners but not $243million to do with it if you will.

With the inability to get fired as a GM this definitely needs to be turned off. I know I noticed a few seasons back Richmond got about 95 mil from his owner. I think that same season i got like 25. Seems to be some sort of correlation to debt and how much is received. Higher debt receives higher cash maybe, but if it's bailing us out of bad deals because it offsets some debt, I agree it should be regulated.

Well it would be nice to know if we should be striving to meet our goals. Know what I mean?

In manually resolving this those goals will have no financial impact as the variances are too large depending on fiscal responsibility of each owner which no one has control over.

Right. And it certainly doesn't seem like there's a fix to it.

Have you checked the OOTP boards at all to see if there's any discussion on it? And a preemptive "not it" on that thought.

I will be scouring the boards while crushing some pasta at lunch.

Does team focus have anything to do with cash flows or anything?

How is Tampa "rebuilding"

we used to control this but we no longer do. The owner directly controls it now. I've been neutral since 17 started.
