When doing trades, is the salary taken into account at all? I know there isn't a cap per se, but in real life there is a number for luxury tax.

I also think we need to look if a team would ever trade a player, even though if the overall ratings make sense.

For instance, the Red Sox would never trade Ortiz or Pedroia and I'm sure there are plenty of other players that would fit into the same mold; Trout, Posey, Braun, Strasburg, Harper, etc. you get point.

You, apparently, have not read any of our comments on any of the trades that are trying to go through. Read those and you will find that we are looking at exactly what you are suggesting.
