If you signed up for next season (Season 28)
I just want to reiterate, if you signed up for Season 28, you NEED to be active.
I am not going to sugarcoat anything, Season 27 was atrocious.
This is to EVERYONE!
I understand that the game may not be as fun for some as you had hoped.
I understand that we all get busy.
You make a commitment when you agree to be IN for a season.
When this happens, it sucks the fun right out of the league for those people trying to do their best to get their games in but they cannot find their opponents.
Please remember, there is an Extended Absence thread along with Scheduling threads so that you can reach out to your opponents.
The lack of these during Season 27, was very disappointing.
I know that this is just a video game league and Life happens, yadda, yadda, yadda...
Quite frankly, I don't want to hear the excuses.
With a new position at work and a 4 month old at home (our first child), if I can find 5 minutes to post to my opponents and find 2 hours a week to get my games in, so can you.
Now, with all of that said, I do not want this thread to turn into a bitch fest.
This is simply meant as a reminder to all of us.
Let's move forward and let's do it with encouragement and enthusiasm.

Im with Nidler on this. Anyone who knows me knows if your talking to me im probably at work. I work 50-60 hrs a week since losing a manager and picking up extra slack but I got all my games in and manage to find time to post and whatever. I have a 6yr old into soccer swimming dance karate and the list goes on and on. Please make an effort this could be the last season. Show up if your "IN".

And please do not misconstrue my message.
I understand if life gets busy and what not, I am not saying that this league takes priority, it doesn't, but it sure as hell only takes a minute or two to post to your opponents that you will be away or that you will be very limited.

Not trying to be hard, just real talk.
I don't get people.
They say IN, then like a month later, gone.
It doesn't take much effort to post that you will be very limited in your time.

HAHAHAHA.
On a real note, nice post Niddler, much needed...nothing worse than getting an AIM from an opponent or another guy in the league..."I am only playing to save my spot, or stay in the other things this has to offer". Boooo to them, to much time and effort put in by everyone, and DEF the guys up top.

Re: If you signed up for next season (Season 28)
I disagree with you JD. Just cause you can find the two hours to get you game in doesnt mean your opponent will have the same two hours on the same day that you do to play. You dont want to hear excuses, but inevitably sometimes things just cant and wont work out.

The key to take away from all of this is communication.
And this is not directed at you swelly, this is in general.
I understand life gets busy and a video game league will take a back seat to that. I get it, I do, but the key is communicate.
Post in the Extended Absence thread, post in the scheduling threads, send your opponent a PM.
Do what you have to so that your opponents are not constantly looking for you.
I sent over 40 PMs to folks who had less than 6 games played at a time when week 12 just opened, so less than half their games.
I cannot tell you how many of those folks replied stating that they reached out to their opponent only to hear nothing back.
If people learn to communicate, this would not be an issue.
I am not saying sim games won't happen. To your point swelly, sometimes guys just cannot get their schedule synced up, no big deal.
But communicate to your opponents to make everyone's life just a little easier.
