Same reason I couldn't keep Brown.

So you cannot keep a guy that was your 4th rounder last year, but would end up being my second rounder this year?

i think they are breaking the amount of times you can keep a guy rule.

i drafted AJ Green in 2011..

3. A Player can only be kept a maximum of 3 consecutive times – This rule is there just to keep things interesting.

I think you're right nick... that first draft date posted is his initial draft date, then the following 2 are him being kept. Therefore he can be kept 1 more. Same with Brown for me. Smart man, you are.

and ted AJ Green is a 1st round talent esp with Marvin jones out.

Greens avg pick is 12.8, and we have 12 people in our draft so i am getting at worst, even value for him (if im randomized 12th pick) or else theres value regardless where i pick

The Predators will keep:

DeSean Jackson - WR - WAS - Will be my 4th round pick this draft. Was picked in 6th round last year.
Andre Ellington - RB - Ari - Will be my 12th round pick this draft. Was undrafted last season.

Cheesesteaks keepers:

Alshon Jefferies- WR - CHI - Will be my 10th rounder as he was drafted in the 12th last year.

Joique Bell- RB - DET - Will be my 11th as he was my 13th rounder last year.

If a guy was say a 4th rounder last year, he would be a 2nd this year, are we allowed to keep a player like that?
Or no, because they would be considered a 2nd round pick?

you can keep em. Thats how im keeping Green (with a 2nd since he was a 4 last yr)

I believed that to be the answer, but just wanted to verify.
My keepers are named, but in the league I run, I have a guy keeping someone that will be his 2nd, so I wanted to ask.

I was looking back at some previous drafts and it looks like we were counting the inital draft year as one before. For example, Ryan (BigRy) didnt keep Marshawn Lynch last year and would have been an 8th round pick. Anyone would have kept him at that rate.

As long as the entire league is in agreement that "keep" means redraft and not on the team, we can move forward like that.

I am about to put in the random draft generator and everyone should get an email with the results at the same time.

I do not agree if we are saying that the first year you draft a player is year 1.
Our rules state that you can keep a player for 3 years. The first you you drafted a player, you didn't keep him till that season is over.

My example of how I understand the rules:
I draft Bortles in round 15 this year, the 2014 season.
I keep him as a round 13 for the 2015 season - This would be my first season having him as a keeper.
I keep him as a round 11 for the 2016 season - This would be my second season having him as a keeper.
I can then keep him 1 more time as a round 9 for the 2017 season - This would be my third and final season that I am allowed to keep this player.

I agree but for some reason I am thinking that some people have been forced into not keeping guys in the past because of 3 years on a team. If everyone agrees we can hold firm on the "keep" and move forward where a guy is on a team for 4 years total.

Dang, was thinking we got an email when it was time to pick keepers. Hadn't checked this for some time and totally missed that part.
