League Ideas

Here is what I was thinking for the league once we start that up:
1. Begin on 4/8/13.
2. Use our created golfers.
3. Use these settings for now.
Swing Difficulty: Normal
Strike Meter: Sticky
Shot Shaping: Normal
Ball Spin: Off
Putt Preview: Off
Swing Meter: On
Wind Display: On
Zoom to Aim: On
Green Grid: On
Boost Pins: Off
4. All tournaments will be run via the Country Club and each week will consist of 2 tournaments. We will always be doing 1 regular tournament lasting 2 rounds and then either 1 other regular lasting 4 rounds, or a major lasting 4 rounds. We will play a major every other week.
The first regular tournament each week will be 2 rounds. What I will do is open up a daily tournament at midnight on Sunday. Even though they are called daily tournaments, I can keep them open for up to 7 days. I'll keep each round open for 2 days. Round 1 ends at midnight each Tuesday, round 2 opens immediately when round 1 ends, and round 2 will end at midnight on Thursday. I will have to manually tabulate the scores offline for the 2 rounds to get the results. I'll then use the "open" days of Friday, Saturday and Sunday to throw out random daily tournaments like we are doing today. These will have nothing to do with the league.
The second regular tournament (or Major tournament every other week) will be 4 rounds. I will use the weekly tournament selection in the CC for these and they will also open at midnight on Sunday. You will then have a full week until midnight the following Sunday to play all 4 rounds.
*EDIT* 5. The point system will be idential to the FedEx cup points. I've only listed the top 15 places. If we end up getting enough people, anything below 15th place will not receive any points.
Regular : Major
500 : 600
300 : 330
190 : 210
135 : 150
110 : 120
100 : 110
90 : 100
85 : 94
75 : 88
70 : 82
70 : 77
65 : 72
60 : 68
55 : 64
45 : 61
6. Season 1 of the league will run for 4 weeks (4/8 to 5/5) so that will be give us 6 regular tournaments and 2 Majors. I figure we will keep it somewhat short so there is some completion to it. We can always start up a season 2 right away if the interest is still there.
Thoughts / Questions / Concerns:
1. What to do with potential server issues if there is a problem when playing your round. We had some issues with the daily tournaments last year where people lost connection to the EA servers while playing the CC tournaments. Since I only put on there 1 try per person, a disconnect would sometimes result in you not being able to post your score and it counted as your 1 try so you basically got shut out of that tournament. I have not had any issues yet, so I guess if this happens we could just revert back to setting up a separate session with the same settings and have someone spot your round.
2. Last year we got together with people and each person spotted the other guy's round. Both guys posted both scores for verification. Playing via the CC will make this unnecessary. You can still play at the same time and have the chat function so I don't think it is that much different. If anything it is easier because you don't have to set up a session to play, you can both just jump into the tournament and as long as you are on the same hole, you can see each other's shot.
Let me know what you all think.
