It's October. The NBA will be back soon. Better get this thread started.
The Nuggets are bringing back the Atari jerseys and they're freaking awesome.
The Blazers have tweaked their red alternates and it looks really good.

I think Faried is going to blow up and have a great year this year. The energy he plays with just amazes me. I bet that guy doesn't sleep more than three hours at a time.

he was statistically a monster per minute last year. like top 20 type player in the league good.
he'll have to work a lot to be able to be a focal point of a team type player, but if he can just do the dirty work, he's awesome.
problem with guys like that is that they become extremely valuable for what they do, then they get overvalued and a shitty GM will take them on for max type money and force them into a role that doesn't fit them and they look like a bust. kinda like Joe Johnson.
hopefully i'm wrong and he can develop his game and be a stud. i love watching him
with no meaningful UConn hoops this year, i'm beyond pumped for NBA

The playing time is there for Faried this season. Having Lawson and Iguodala should make for some very nice feeds and the rebounds will certainly be available with 2 goons and McGee at C and Gallinari falling in love with his 3 ball.
I hate the new jerseys though. I saw a Yahoo article complimenting them and couldn't believe it. So bad.
On another note, the Brooklynettes outfits are intriguing. Not quite Bikini Basketball League good, but still interesting.

Good enough to finish 3rd/4th behind OKC/LA.

Looks like the usual suspects at first glance...
EAST:
Miami
Boston
Chicago
... Brooklyn on paper as a sleeper?
WEST:
OKC
LAL
SA / LAC
... Denver as the next team to fight with this crew?
Some of these teams are just awful... Cleveland? Houston? Charlotte? REALLY BAD!

i like a lot of teams more than Chicago and Brooklyn.
Indy, Philly, even the Knicks are all on par with Chicago without Rose.
Brooklyn has to prove it first, decent starting 5, but i'm not sold til i see them playing together.
i also think Cleveland is gonna surprise alot of people and contend for a playoff spot. Kyrie is elite. elite players can carry teams by themselves.

should already be 2 if Lebron didn't play as bad as humanly possible for him and Dallas didn't bury every jumper they took

I was going to go off and make an awesome prediction that the Heat don't win it all this year because 1 of the big 3 suffers and injury and they get upset. Then I looked at the East's depth charts and realized that even with 2 guys they should win the East.
I'll still stick with the major injury part.

if Bynum is healthy, motivated and not a fucking idiot, i think they are top 3 of the East good.
he's a difference maker and if Jrue and Turner make logical progressions, they have some nice pieces. i just hate Nick Young/Jason Richardson combo at SG. lot of wasted possessions from the 2

Yeah, I'm assuming Chicago is with Rose, since he's rehabbing ok. But without, they aren't even top 5. My bad on Indiana. They are actually the team I'd put at 2/3, right there with Boston. I'm not sold on Hill @ PG, but love the combo of George/Granger.
Felton back with NY should help some, but that team just can't seem to put it together. I do like Brooklyn on paper. IF Lopez finally tries to get a couple of rebounds, this team could be very good. Wallace and Hump are a great compliment to Williams and Johnson because they don't demand the ball. And no idea why, but I've always thought that Brook Lopez has the potential to be a top tier C if he ever grows a pair and tries to rebound and work for position. He's a good athlete, good FT shooter, has a decent low post game and can pass. For some reason he just can't put it all together on a consistent basis.

He's never been much of a rebounder, going all the way back to his Stanford days. Why would he start now?

I don't think they have anything to help him at the 4. I can't see Hawes making that transition. Guys like Bosh / Garnett (when not at 5) / anyone with a reasonable jumper, will kill him. Philly also gutted their bench. That was a big strength for them last season and now it's significantly thinner. Williams and Meeks played important roles. I've liked Turner a lot, due to his solid all around game, but he really has to take a leadership role and produce. That might happen with Iggy gone. But giving up so much at 4 with Hawes / Allen and 2 with Richardson / Young, is just too much to overcome.
It doesn't hep that Bynum is down for 3 weeks and knee is messing up (had surgery).
