Do they not show your opponents season showdown anymore? Meaning you would have no idea if they are setting everything to aggressive...Also how would someone know if you use guess run or not, just by the way the line moves post snap?

I may have just missed the boat on this one

Best way to tell is look at the scoreboard right when the play ends. If you run and they guess run and they stuff it, their school's name on the scoreboard will switch to "+3 strategy play the run" just like it does when you make a user tackle and such. As far as aggressive/conservative...no clue.

Hmm this is a good point. I know that if you guess run/pass or use a setup play (not saying this is not widely accepted in the NDL) it will pop up on the scoreboard over the team that used it so if you keep an eye out you can still be notified of all that.

Setting everything to aggressive would be hidden though if EA doesnt get Season Showdown working.

Anytime an opponent uses and "L1 Adjusment" and the play works....IE play the pass results in an INC pass, +3 Strategy shows up on their school name on the scoreboard when the play is completed. No more do they have the head to head score on season showdown when in the pause menu, or postgame menu. LAME.

That's not necessarily true. You don't get any strategy points for picking the player you think the play is going to. That's an L1 adjustment.

Yeah, you talking about spotlighting a WR pre play? Thats an L2 Adjustment preplay. And if you pick the pass that is going to the WR you chose, a strat point shows up.

But only if you select Play the Pass, not if you just spotlight the receiver.

You sure?

Cause I recently played a game, with headset, and the other coach did this on defense and picked the pass to the WR I threw it to, and he had him spotlighted; and a strategy points message was displayed.

Remember, I'm talking about just spotlighting the player you think the play will go to, not picking whether it will be a run or a pass. If I think the RB is going to get the ball, I can select L2 and spotlight him to make sure my defense keys in on him. I'm not telling my defense at this point that I think you're going to run, just that I think the HB is going to get the ball. Could be a run, could be a pass. This forces the defense to keep a close eye on him.

In your example you stated your opponent "picked the pass". That is strategy.

Unless you mean he intercepted (picked) the pass. But I'd be willing to bet he more than just spotlighted the wide out. I've spotlighted HB's before when I felt he was going to get the ball - not picked play the run/pass - and have never received strategy points for it.

Yes, INT the pass...if you key the WR and INT the pass that is going to that WR then strat appears. If no pick then nothing shows up, only if you INT the pass does it strat.

Dang, only L1 things I've touched in the last 3 versions is having my offense get set more aggressively (less time off the clock) and making zones deeper late in a game I am leading.

These are just things that a few coaches and myself try out on new versions of the game; to see what sort of CHEESE can and will be out there. This goes back to the "Guess Pass" thread. Everyone knows how I feel about it

Pretty much. Dave and I played a game last night with us each running over 50 plays. I dont think there was ever more than 5 seconds of waiting between plays

Ah, like Swelly said, I like to also see what's out there. I suck bad enough at this game that I need to try and make sure I understand how some of this stuff works and whether or not it will help me without being cheesy.

I'll change my zone coverage on defense every once and awhile depending on the play calling of the person I'm playing. If they run the option I'll adjust those defensive settings but I generally leave them at normal. If my guys are getting run over I like to put the hit and strip to conservative to get my guys to wrap up. On offense I generally put catching and running on conservative as well to avoid turnovers and bad drops.

The guess run/pass I generally don't use at all because if you guess wrong on a run it's a free touchdown basically.

not to mention guess run is 100% against the rules....
