Diablo only held my attention for about a week. I got into the 2nd beta weekend for GW2 and it was decent. They announced the release date yesterday, 8/28. There is going to be another beta weekend for prepays on 7/20. The game is in pretty good shape. It's something that you can pick it up, play it without a lot of gear grinding and then put it down for a few days. It's unlike WoW in that you don't have the constant race for gear (and need). At the same time, that means that once you reach cap, you've only got pvp to keep you entertained. Considering there is no sub fee, I guess I shouldn't expect a ton of end game content.

Random comments/thoughts on it...
- Active dodge / avoidance... I tried it, it was different, not sure where I stand on it right now, as it seems like melee would suffer a lot.
- WvW... solid idea, makes for some massive battles (think gates of AQ opening if you played WoW, or a larger old school AV)
- Gear scales... this kind of worked in SWTOR to get low levels playing with their friends.
- Linear leveling... makes you not dread the higher levels. The big advantage of higher levels is gear.
- Level scaling... so if you enter a lower level zone, your AP, etc scales down to make things consistently difficult. Interesting.

BTW... played beta weekends for The Secret World... great concepts, terrible execution. About what I would expect from that company. (Funcom - Age of Conan / Anarchy Online)

with a kid on the way, how do you expect to play NCAA, OOTP, and this ? how many you got? is it just another one?

LoL... this will be my first. I'm actually also a full time college student and work full time (ok, attend work full time). I don't sleep much. Like 1a/2a to 630a/7a. OOTP @ work; Study on lunch if necessary; Write papers overnight Fri/Sat.

I have serious ADD issues... I can't being 'not doing something.' It drives my wife insane. Having a kid is going to be awesome. I've actually been 'bored' at times lately.

Its weird with the baby.

He wakes up at 2 and I am in this alternate universe of exhaustion but when I can go back to sleep, I cant. Its not really tired but like this crazy feeling.

Then when I can sleep during the day when he is, Im not the least bit tired or feel tired.

It is a crazy feeling that I cant describe with a better explanation than that rubbish above.
