Guitar Hero:World Tour

This is the very first time I have played a Guitar Hero title.
A tad different than RB. Looks more "vivid" if that makes any sense? Its really bright and graphics wise I think it looks better. The stages, the little intros, and the crowd.
The characters are nowhere near as good as RB in my opinion though. Sure you can create your own, but they just look a little odd.
I LOVE the gameplay itself though. It beats RB in my opinion with the leveling. In RB there are to many holes when you arent playing on Medium.
On medium on GH, it is almost to a hard type level on RB which I love. I always said medium is to easy and a big jump to hard. Its just me and I can always get better, but medium on GH is fun as hell. I find myself concentrating on to much shit and not failing on hard on RB while on GH its more about playing and really enjoying it. I dont know if that makes any sense.
So far the setlist is pretty SICK.
It has 311..NUFF SAID. I had no idea it did. I go into a venue and BAM...BEAUITIFUL DISASTER!!!!
So far Ive done Freak on a Leash, Hotel California, Space Cowboy or whatever. Really bad ass set list.
Havent played drums or anything as of yet.
I will have to checkout their download content but to be honest, this might be a purchase if their DLC is pretty solid.
It is definitely worth a rental from the RB group.
I give it a very solid 9Cs on the Cnasty scale.

Screw you guys.
Im telling you, worth a rental and probably an add on the ol Christmas list.
DLC is horrible and lacking but the game setlist beats RB 2 I must say.

a lot of the songs on there are on RB2. that's one reason i haven't gotten it. plus the dlc has been pretty lame so far, of course RB went through about 2 or 3 months of lameness.

I've had GHWT for a while now, and the drums kick ass. Much better and more fluid than RB's.
I agree with Cnasty's post...the gameplay is much better better and actually challenging on Medium and accurately "hard" on Hard level. The structure of the guitar itself is very nice and even better is the setup of the drums. The crowd and visuals makes you feel more like you are there playing/singing/etc. Sure the character graphics are as "life-like"...but who cares when the game plays better.
OK, that's it. I hear once you get the hang of the music editor it is a blast..but I just don't have the patience for that yet!

my cousin got this for Christmas, I was not impressed, but I have 200+ songs and the only ones he had I wanted to play it would take me a few days to unlock.... Overall I am happy with RB and will not miss a wink of sleep if I never play again. That's not to say it is a poor title, just not for me!!

Ditto, except for playing your cousin's game of course.

The TOOL set list is unbelievable.
I love Rock Band, but GHWT's set list DOMINATES the RB list.
BUT since RB easily dominates with the DLC it is definitely still my favorite.
I am still thinking of picking it up and maybe starting a DLC with GHWT if anyone is interested as well.

I agree.
I hear there is a 'Forrest Gump - Soundtrack' coming out next week for GH:WT!

The Forrest Gump soundtrack is pretty badass if you like generational music.
Anyway, I'm just posting because Cnasty thinks that medium on Guitar Hero is hard. I love the hard mode on Guitar Hero because you finally don't feel like you're skipping multiple notes all the time. You need to give that a shot if you haven't yet.

Not so much hard, but where Medium should be on Rock Band.
Medium on RB is just to easy at times.
On GH it seemed just right.
I only rented it so I didnt have much time to get up to hard on the songs and stuck with medium. I am going to rent it again, or buy it.
The setlist is nuts. If they had even decent DLC it could be a fun mix with RB.

It was just a joke after reading pdr's review of FG in the Benjamin Button thread.

I agree the soundtrack really is badass. The 2CDs have been spinning quite a bit over the years in my house. The movie was badass as well!
