I've always thought it was suspect, but never have knocked anyone for it.

You can't move them before the ball is kicked off, so not sure what the issue would be. On punt returns if they move them before the punt then I'd say that's unrealistic.

i'd say before the kick it's cheap, but after the kick not at all

...in reality i wouldn't dock for it though cuz i pretty much never do unless there's blatant bullshit

Yeah I think Punt Returns is important case to note when preparing for the return game...Moving people manually here can be touchy only if you do something that would never be done in real life...

For instance...If you pick a D Lineman and as soon as the ball is hiked you bolt straight backwards to block, thats bullshit

If you respect that players assignment then react accordingly, I dont see much a problem other wise

The title of the thread is "Moving Blockers on Kickoffs?

Say moving a guy from the right of the screen to the left during flight of the kickoff.

If anyone thinks thats cheap your a fucking pussy. Lighten up. In no way does it effect the kick return, returning kicks is damn hard now :!: ;) .

if what stimpin is saying about during the flight of the ball that that's cool but i was playing someone the other day can't remember who and before i even kicked the ball one guy on the back row was allready running left as my kicker was running up 2 kick the ball.

the best question would be to ask yourself is it giving me an unfair advantage?

Then that person is the only person in the NDL who knows how to move his players before the kickoff, lol.

Why is it suspect on a kickoff?

I dont know, it's a nonissue to me.

I ALWAYS take control of the kick returner who isn't under the ball returning the kick, and move him either near my returner so he can block the last guy coming at me, or I move him to a side of the field I plan on returning the ball to.

IF IT AFFECTS THE BLOCKING I'D SAY IT'S CHEAP. IN DOING IT, MOVING BEFORE THE KICK, I ASK CAN THE CPU'S PLAYERS A.I ADJUST??? I THINK NOT.. I DON'T DO IT TO PEOPLE SO I DON'T WANT IT DONE TO ME! THE ONLY REASON TO DO IT IS TO GAIN A UNFAIR ADVANTAGE ON THE KICKING TEAM.. . MY BOOK IT'S CHEAP. BEEFY

well I m not buying this book..

For me I not ashamed to say I take the same guy every kickoff and run to the same side of the field everytime on every kickoff.. period..

Every time every kickoff.. I dont think it gives me an unfair advantage, I ve returned maybe 2-4 kicks for TDS in maybe 40 scrims, so I dont see the unfair advantage in that percentage..

And hell if you think i m getting unfair advantage kick it to the side of the field my kicker is running from.. people do that to me when they notice my tendancy to set up my wall..

I see nothing wrong with it, and wouldnt care if someone did the same to me.. on kickoffs..

I have not seen any advantage gained..

Shit you gain more advantage of running in a zig zag then moving a blocker.

Now argue that one.

ARGUE? WTF IS THEIR TO ARGUE ABOUT? I ANSWERED A QUESTION WITH MY THOUGHTS ON THE QUESTION.. JUST AS YOU HAVE. YOU WANT TO ARGUE ,,GO ARGUE WITH YOUR WIFE!!! WHATS NEXT? RUNNING YOUR GUY BACK ON PUNT RETURNS TO BE A EXTRA BLOCKER?? MOVING A LINEBACKER OR SAFETY UP TO THE LINE OF SCRIMAGE? NANO BLITZING? WR DIRECT SNAPS?? .. IT'S A SLIPPERY SLOPE..

You sound very nit picky, and seem to be the type that looks for things to complain about. If that's the worst that happens, i dont see the big deal. Go play a lobby game and see how the other half lives. Maybe then you will realize not to sweat the small shit.

I think its flat out fucking gay, but it's pretty much done 50% of the time so I let it go. If it doesn't happen in real life I frown upon it, and respect a guy less for doing it. And for those saying "it doesn't give me an unfair advantage", then why in the fuck do you do it? The only reason it is done is to get one more blocker over there than should be over there, so the whole fucking idea is to get a damned advantage. Furthermore, it's an insult to those of us who prefer a realistic game as possible to act otherwise. None of us in this league are that stupid. It's totally assanine to see a guy from the left side fly all the way across the screen and block to the side the ball is kicked. How anyone defends this befuddles me. Each blocker has an assignment, you don't fly vigilante style across the field.
If it looks like shit and smells like shit, it's probably shit.

But as I said, I don't worry about it when doing CR's. There's nothing in the rules saying it is illegal, but without a doubt it's a "grey area" issue. I get more irritated with guys getting on here and acting all innocent about it. Basically those who do it, do it for no reason whatsoever, even though it is far from realistic.

Ummm, yeahhhhh I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday.
