Good. This will get him off ATH.

LOS ANGELES -- ESPN personality and AOL sports columnist Jay Mariotti has been arrested on a felony charge in Los Angeles.

Officer Norma Eisenman says the 51-year-old Mariotti was arrested early Saturday in the police department's Pacific Division following a "domestic incident." Eisenman declined to provide further details.

The Sheriff's Department website confirms Mariotti was booked on an undisclosed felony charge at 5:45 a.m. and is being held on $50,000 bail.

ESPN spokesperson Josh Krulewitz said, "We've just learned of it and are looking into it," declining further comment.

Mariotti lives in Los Angeles. He is a panelist on the ESPN show "Around the Horn" and writes a regular column for the sports website Fanhouse.com.

He was a longtime columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times.

ESPN has gone to shit in regards to picking their "journalists". E:60 is the only show where they actually use GOOD ones, and it shows.

When I was a kid, the Sports Reporters show was a good one; it usually consisted of three really good journalists and Dick Schaap hosted.

Today's show consisted of Bob Ryan (not bad)....and Mike Lupica, Jemele Hill, and Howard Bryant. What a joke.

Jemele Hill continues to prove the knows absolutely nothing about sport; she went on a rant about how she felt no sympathy for the golfer who grounded his club last weekend, "He should have known, they gave out sheets to all the golfers with the rules". Why ESPN continues to employ that bitch, I have no idea. But....it's ESPN. I'm sure just like her and all the controversial shit she's done, ESPN will bring Mariotti back as well.

they employ a ton of shitty people because they are not white males. Sad to say, but it's as simple as that because they have some TERRIBLE people

I love how you try to mask why you hate her. I'm sure it has nothing to do with her comparing Calipari to Charles Manson.

Actually that's one of the LEAST nasty things she's said.

The comment she made about Hitler was much worse IMO. She also was doing soccer "writing" at the World Cup and had no freaking idea what she was talking about.

I don't know what she said in the rant because I didn't hear it or read it. But this statement is true. He should have known even without a rules sheet. Golf is a game of rules and you are supposed to know them. It's the only sport where you are supposed to call a foul on yourself. You never ground your club in a bunker or a lateral hazard. NEVER

Did you SEE the "bunker" in question? I doubt 90% of the guys playing that course would've known that was 'bunker'.

Yes i saw it. The guy fucked up. That was a bunker and the dude should have known it. He'd been at the course the entire week and played that hole at least 4 times previously. Not to mention the course is explained to them before they even get out on it. If 90 % of the guys playing the course wouldn't have known it was a bunker, why did noone else do it?
Granted, the officials should have made sure that spectators weren't standing in the bunker. But he should have known.
