I say Bama wins it. Their D is tough and Ingram is a beast.

Bama scores to go up two scores late in the game. Bama secondary too much for McCoy when they know that Texas cant run the football.

I do think the Bama QB can't rely on Ingram cause Texas may just say we have to stop Ingram lets have the QB beat us.

Mcelroy cannot beat texas by himself.

If Ingram is held to less than 100 yds Texas wins. they are close to undefeated when holding a RB to less than 100 yds.

Against the best 2 pass defenses Texas has faced, McCoy has thrown 1 TD, 4 INTs, and been sacked 13 times.

And now they face Bama, probably the 2nd best pass D in the nation behind Nebraska.

That's the most telling stat going into this game, IMO.

to quote ICE,

I promise this will be the only thing I say on this topic as I clearly have the blinders on as i'm sitting in the OC right now going to this game tomorrow, but Alabama is no Nebraska. Child please Suh is 100000000000000000000000x better than Mount Cody.

We suck, but 17-13 and that's IF we don't score a non-offensive TD (which I think we will)

Ooooh, the eye roll cause you don't like actual stats that go against Texas?

LOLZ.

Well, at least you can admit you have the blinders on, so the rest of your statement is pretty much null and void.

Check stats and defensive rankings then get back to me on how Nebraska's defense is soooo much different and sooooo much better than Alabama's.

National Championship Thoughts:

I attended 10/12 games this year, only missing the games @Mizzou and @Wyoming. I felt like our team was unexcited for a lot of games and that showed up in a lot of the box scores and results. When EVERYONE was shitting on UT, we (i'll use we) played our hearts out and fuckstomped Mizzou. People were giving them a chance despite what people think about Mizzou currently, and that game was over in the 1q. Same sort of thing happened in the Oklahoma State game where we didn't get pissed off and ready to kill the Cowpokes until they went for it on 4th and 1 inside their 30 yardline on the first drive. I just feel like the team hasn't been excited about a game all year sans OU because all roads pointed to Pasadena.

Even with the 10 games I went to, I watched (or re-watched) Alabama in almost every game. I sort of became a fan of Alabama because I hate Florida and wanted TT to lose and cry on national television so i'm 2/2 on those wishes. I feel like I had a good handle this year on the Tide, losing only a 2H bet on them -6.5 because they failed a 2pt conversion late against Auburn.

Aside from that:
-Won with them -6.5 @ Ole Miss
-Won on South Carolina +17
-Won on them -7 vs. LSU

So i'm sitting at 3-1, which was very close to being 4-0 on them this year, and I think I have a good handle on them.

What I don't understand?
Why doesn't Bama just line up in I-form and run down people's throats? The shotgun running and the wildcat formation just add disguise to what everyone knows is going to come, and it really hurts the Tide's productivity. If Bama lines up and just tries to push Lamar Houston and 5-ten-Ben out of the middle, I think they win, but I can't see them doing that because they haven't all year when they had similar advantages.
Bama will struggle out of the shotgun because they haven't seen a player like Sergio Kindle. Basically he is DeMarcus Ware (same height, minus 7 pounds) standing up in the 3-4 or 3-3-5 or whatever the heck Muschamp throws out there, and I think that will be a MAJOR concern for McElroy especially in passing situations.

Things I'd like to disprove:
-Big XII defensive numbers are always skewed by reputation and because every offense in the league is a spread, with a lot of no-huddle. That doesn't happen in the SEC and no one accounts for that.
-Shipley is the best receiver in the country, but because he's white he's viewed as unathletic and slow. He really is much better than people think, because I started out as a hater thinking he had nothing on Julio or AJ Green (my favorite), but he really does because he sits in the slot. Most teams don't want to throw their #1 DBs on him, but he others up. Perrish Cox (should be on a 2nd AA team) and Brian Jackson (screwed off the 1st team because Arenas doesn't belong there) both did a good job on him, but I really don't think any of Bama's guys like JA, Woodall, etc. can do what they did to him.
-McElroy is not a stud. I'm sorry, but Southlake Carroll is the reason why he's never lost as a starter. He misses too many WIDE OPEN receivers, and that will come back to haunt you when you get DB-U on the other side of the ball. I would have had much easier heartbeats during those Alabama ATS wins if he could make a damn throw, and unfortunately he just couldn't do it (missing Julio in the endzone against LSU still just replays in my mind).

Concerns:
-Ro McClain.
-Our OL ranked 3rd in the nation by Phil Steele playing like shit as it has all year. Maybe it's our rotations, or that I see Charlie Tanner downtown at the Blind Pig everytime I go, but they suck at times.
-Javier Arenas gets lose.
-Our lack of productivity from the RBs.
-Chykie (pronounced Shockee) Brown jumping a route with no safety help and getting burned.
-Colin Peek making some big catches and being that safety valve/huge target to give Mac some confidence.

Advantages:
-I think Alabama has trouble on kickoff coverage, and we could exploit that if Marquise Goodwin or a healthy Shipley fumble a kick and then let everyone set up before they find a lane.
-Along with the STs is our defense. I really think we get a non-offensive TD and it could come from a punt block, a return or our defense. Earl Thomas is a ballhawk, unlike Berry because I think he's more of a LB-safety with his ability to make big hits and stop the run, and I think he'll make it a long day for McElroy if he even begins to look deep.
-QB position
-Making Mount Cody ineffective because we'll audible to pass/read option when he's in the game and run when he's out. I've watched enough Bama to realize that he's the key to getting 3rd and longs where the blitz packages come out.
-Our LBs. They'll hear all over the place that the Tide's backers are the second comings of Jesus Christ (which they may be), but Keenan Robinson and Rod Muckelroy are WAY better than the credit they get. (You could say Muck's my boy, but I don't think that clouds my judgment either)
-Our assistants know Saban/McElwain. Muschamp with him at LSU and in the NFL, and then Applewhite with them on offense recently. I also think Greg Davis will pull out his routine job-saving gameplan because if we look like shit he will be gone and Major will take over.
-Underdog/you shouldn't be here status. Everyone talks about TCU down here no matter if you went there or not, and I doubt the players will take that lightly.
-Greg Buckner. I think his size will be a problem, and he's been quoted everywhere all season about how he was such a stud in HS and how he still needs to work to even be noticed at UT.

Final thoughts on the game:
Texas wins in a low-scoring game. I also think we (2nd we give me a break) would win in a high-scoring game much more easily, but I don't think Saban or Muschamp will let that happen. As long as Texas doesn't make turnovers in bad field position I think we can force some of our own. I just don't think Alabama can match-up as well with our WRs as we can with their DBs, and I don't think Maze will be as good as people expect taking pressure off Julio. One more small and fast corner would be lovely, and I'm hoping AJ can stifle Maze across the middle if a hit from Muck early in the game won't do it.

Texas 17-13, but don't take anything from that score prediction

You talking about my point about Texas against top pass defenses or my point about long posts?

Yea, I definitely do read the long posts, except for the occasional Trendon diatribtes cause those are really worth it.
