This would never happen in real life!!!!!
Get some depth.

I am not saying turn off injuries or anything crazy like that. Just saying we suffer tons of injuries already and you already need depth. Some years you get lucky, some years you do not. Matching real life is not achievable in everything.
Most importantly, we sim week to week. You can have 2 guys go down on Monday and your manager make the worst moves and be screwed and you can't call anyone up and address it for 6-7 games. The league is awesome already, no reason at all to turn injuries up.

i'm in the camp that having more injuries would make the league better. it would put move value on depth and quality ML players. We'd have AAA teams roster some AAAA type vets to keep depth alive rather than it just being the next step for prospects. We'd be less able to overvalue prospects like we currently do, we'd rarely if ever have starters sitting in free agency til the all star break and obviously it'd be more sim.
however, your second point is absolutely fair. it does suck if you have a shitty manager that puts in terrible subs and it ruins a few games.
i still think the pro's out weigh the cons. in terms of it being 'lame', i'd say that's your opinion. Lame is guys going entire seasons with no sims and being able to stake their entire franchise on finding 25 great players and a good trainer.

17-2 was the vote in favor of not raising the injury level. Just a reminder.
I was one of the 2 and I am assuming Ted was the other (poll creator).

Lets open a poll to raise the injuries on Boston only.

Of course Boston would be in favor of this, his minor system that is 84x greater than the next best wouldn't miss a beat if given the chance to play in the big leagues due to injuries

Perhaps lame is the wrong word but as you notice I go for dramatic effect.
I personally don't think it will make guys value prospects any less or make them more movable but who knows. It should help sign ML level guys sitting in FA but I don't think that outweighs the cons of more injuries.

Duster throwing shot at Corey, saying he's looking out for Boston moreso than the league.

I was a not vote due to insufficient information on the comparison to real life.
No graphs = no vote

Oh, Duster is definitely the new Nick. I know of multiple GMs that have made that connection already.

If Nick wasn't in year 17 of his rebuild, maybe someone else could help spice this place up a bit

All I'm really saying is we try to be "realistic". That being said, is there anything that isn't realistic about our current injury settings? Some teams have a handful, some teams don't have any, some get killed with them. Some injuries are 2 weeks and some are 13 months. If we up the injuries it is literally going to take 2 sims before a "no" voter complains about the new upped frequency. What we have may not be completely on par with real-life, but at least what we have isn't running people off. I think we're at a good level.
I mentioned earlier if we could up the frequency of the hamstring strain types that force guys out for 3-5 games then I'd be all for it. It seems we either have nothing or blown ulnar radius bronchitis types...

Quick PSA that my whole 25 man can be had except Stone and Estrada. Need to make room for the incoming mass minors exodus! Not gonna be too picky. Send me a half decent offer and we're in business!

OOTP 18 fixes this perfectly. From what I can tell there are 3 types of injuries. Minor, moderate, and severe. Minor injuries (calf strain, sore knees etc...) are things guys can play through and 95% of them will be fine after. Moderate injuries (broken finger on non-throwing hand, broken nose, etc...) can be played through but have a greater risk of turning into a severe injury. Severe injuries (Tommy John surgery, torn ligaments etc...) obviously are things that are impossible to play through.
I had an offline game where a player had a 5 month moderate injury to his shoulder. Played through it the whole year and he was fine. His numbers were down obviously but he never made a DL trip.
This isn't an endorsement to move to '18. I'm just saying when we move to '19 this injury system (which I love) should still be a feature.
