I'm pondering a fire sale since I'm so far back of Boston's runaway juggernaut. I'll think it over on my flight and get back to you guys

Trading away Kevin Pritchard for SP Todd Williams in 2023
Trading away Carl Hodges away for two MR's (I did win the world series with them though)
I have a hard time with questions like this, because some of the deals that I do don't necessarily make sense if you just look at it by itself. But many times they are part of a bigger picture and as you see the other players move, they make more sense.
If I had to pinpoint one that feels like a player that I completely misjudged... Alfredo "Vandal" Rodriguez. The guy just seems to keep on winning ball games and with exception to 1 injury, has been a rock through the years. I received CF Adrian "Rocket" Rodriguez for him, which quickly turned into an overload of quality CFs (also had Villareal and someone else noteworthy in the minors). I can't really complain with what Rocket did once he hit the majors and he's a big reason that "Hamburger" Jamison is now in Cincinnati. (there goes that on-going sequence of events)

My trades are always part of a bigger picture.
I look at my team in my spreadsheet, current and then have a future tab, so I am always looking at what my team will look like in 3-4 seasons.
It helps me when planning my next trade, etc.

Woooo!!!!!!!!!
I hated giving Rodriguez up, but the team was in no position to compete. Heck, I can probably throw up my trade of Vandal one of my least favorite. Looked great on paper, but 2 of the 3 have seen huge ratings declines(one is the aforementinoed Archie Meredith from the 80 game ban debacle when I let Corey watch my team while on vacation lol), and SP John Murray who is 78 potential is now 25 years old and still only has 1 ML ready pitch, so it's not looking good.

Moreno for Reyes is the answer for Niddler.
Had to throw in the 1 trade I won out of my last 20.

I took a gamble on the Vandal in that trade and remember telling shel it was for a year or 2 down the road when I built a team around him and not while I was losing the last couple years.
Luckily he still has it and was patient enough with management for us to make the moves to put him in the position to get a ring with bishop and Hastings surrounding him.

It's fun going around reading all the trade blocks and then everyone saying "let me know". I kind of picture all of us sitting around twiddling our fingers wondering why no one has contact us.

My favorite is when someone has a trade block thread, I pick a guy, PM/IM them to say I want that guy, and they reply "make me an offer"
No thanks, have a good day.
I will do that, but only if it's a guy not on my block that I don't really have any interest in trading, but if you want him, i'll listen. Otherwise, if you tell me you like a player of mine, i'll tell you who I want, and we can go from there.

make me an offer is stupid too b/c all our scouts vary. by picking out guys you love, the other guy may not care about them and wouldn't even thing you wanted them.

I usually only do that if I don't have my game around. I'm usually pretty open and tell people that I like X, Y and Z... and I don't care for A, B and C. Typically, people run like hell when I name a few of their best prospects. My reaction... look at my damn team, who the hell did you think I was going to ask about? Likewise, I don't mind people inquiring about anyone on my team. In most cases, anyone can be had... you just might not like the price or have the pieces on your team.

I list every single person in your organization I am currently interested in hoping you would do the same back and then we put a discussion in place for the parts.
I'm very easy to trade with.

this is my thinking too. i could like someone who they think is a 30 pot, i list 3 good dudes, his scout thinks he sucks, soon he thinks he has 3 underrated studs. I name who I like, you name who you like, if the numbers work, we write a forum post.

You're probably the most direct/least fluff added person to deal with in the league.

So with all these recent trades, trying to squeeze in before the deadline, I believe I posted stating I would see if we were still able to trade and never posted that we could.
Would you all be mad at me if we couldn't?

Glad you both laughed as I am just fucking with you.
We are good to go for tomorrow.
