Is this the first mention of Cuevas all season? I don't even think Nick has mentioned him yet. Ah, the good ole days when didn't go 3 days without hearing about him.

Now Walt Johnson too, geez. Thank god I get Sakamoto and Long back in a week and maybe Walt. I don't recognize 20% of my team

Re: 2070 Season Thread.... Oh Canada
Starting pitcher Scott Fox has been a very pleasant surprise for us this season. I had him slated as an RP to start this season but injuries begrudgingly forced him into the starting rotation.
I apologize for not having faith in you good sir.

It is really rough. When you get some players the caliber of the ones I had get hurt we can talk all about it

Pretty funny considering you've asked me about those SP's in trade talks a couple times.
Re: 2070 Season Thread.... Oh Canada
Nobody said they were not good prospects, they are awesome ones. Just comparing them to guys that have accomplished as much as Lugo and Walt seems silly. Even Sakamoto has proven way more.

I'm going to need you to point out where I compared my players to yours.
Seems you're being a bit touchy now that your team is suddenly having to deal with the injury bug. Perhaps you should just be grateful your guys only go down for a few weeks.

Cookeville has 10 games vs the Greeks in the final 5 weeks and my boys should be at full strength barring any setbacks or new injuries. You will get your chance to take the AL West.

Well, here's to hoping I'm also at full strength.
Moving on to a new person to rile up now. Without fail, Omaha always has two picks in the first round of the draft. Are we still required to show proof of offering at least slot?

We never implemented that to my knowledge.Wasted Memory wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:10 am Are we still required to show proof of offering at least slot?

Re: 2070 Season Thread.... Oh Canada
I try to sign everyone. But if you look at all the red in my budget you can see I can only offer slot. He was "Very Easy" for the Beef to sign but wanted $3.8M and I offered the $1.2M slot. Oh well, hope next years draft is amazingWasted Memory wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:10 amWell, here's to hoping I'm also at full strength.

May not have been implemented, but we definitely talked about it. It was many many seasons ago though. All the way back to when half the league seemed to have multiple first round picks.Cnasty wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:12 amWe never implemented that to my knowledge.Wasted Memory wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:10 am Are we still required to show proof of offering at least slot?

Re: 2070 Season Thread.... Oh Canada
Yea we definitely talked about it but we never made a specific rule or enforced it.
Re: 2070 Season Thread.... Oh Canada
When I joined the league I was told you had to offer slot to get the pick the next year. I thought it was a rule the game enforced. I have not seen any setting that can make you enforce that.

The Trendon rule?Wasted Memory wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 10:25 amMay not have been implemented, but we definitely talked about it. It was many many seasons ago though. Re: 2070 Season Thread.... Oh Canada
I don't believe it was even a Winter Topic meeting/vote. Just a discussion we had way back when. Ultimately we decided that teams had to at least offer slot after we "discovered" ( I use this word loosely) some teams weren't even offering the picks in hopes that next years draft would be better. If I recall, we were going to make a thread where people could post a screenshot of the offer but we never really followed through with it.

A screenshot doesn't solve anything. You could post a screenshot saying that you offered slot and then turn around and offer something completely different, or not offer anything at all

Eh. When they turn down your offer it shows what you had previously offered when you go back into to negotiate again.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 11:13 am A screenshot doesn't solve anything. But this is all for nothing as it wasn't something we enforced anyway.

3-0 vs the NL this week.
