I like how I have an email from someone saying they'd like to start negotiations to resign, but then I go to offer an extension, and they don't want to talk and want to test FA.

Billy, I have a DFA'ed player with 0 days left and when I tried to place him in AAA it says he is out of option years and needs to clear waivers. Can you see what's up with him? Bobby Wright

Had he cleared waivers prior to the DFA?

That is just what it says when a guy has no more option years so you either gotta put him on the ML roster or release him

He waived and designated for assignment on the 10th so he cleared waivers already

If he cleared waivers, he's off the 40 man, so he should be able to place him on a minor league team.

The ohky exception is if the guy had enough service years and could refuse demotion.

He's 31 so maybe thats it but typically it says refuses demotion, at least when I do it during sims

He didn’t refuse. It’s not like I haven’t done this a million times.

Greeks with 5 minor injuries but lost all our depth and backups so Naohito Nonaka makes his return to the OF the next two sims. Probably should have been playing him over Merrill vs LHP all year to get Blackwell some more ABs

Just tested it with Ricardo Herrera who was listed as RP, switched him to CL...now he's a captain.

So you can be a reliever and be a captain but you have to be an important reliever!

I think it may also have to do with the quantity of other players of similar type as Bennie Espinosa has switched between Captain and Prankster depending on how many other Captains I've had on the team at the same time
