3 on 3 basketball announced as an official sport at the Tokyo summer games.
This will be fun.

I'd watch the hell out of this, but I doubt it'll be the guys we want to watch playing lol.
A team consists of four players—three starters and a substitute. There are no coaches.
I don't like the sub rule
The half-court game features a 12-second shot clock. The game ends after a single 10-minute period or when one team reaches 21 points. Every made shot inside the three-point arc is worth one point; shots beyond the arc are worth two. After a change of possession on a missed shot or a turnover, the ball must be taken back beyond the three-point arc. The same rule applies after a made basket.
The 3 pointer just became even more important!!!

This is going to be fantastic.
How does the US make their team?
How many teams can they have?
Who is it?
Lets do this!!

Best 3 man team, who ya got?
I'd roll with:
Lebron
KD
Kawhi
That's of course basing it off of right now, who knows by 2020.
Imagine the US qualifying rounds if this were a thing, it would be epic!

In 2020, not going Lebron. I'd say
Russ
KD
KAT or Davis.
I mean who in the hell is guarding Towns or Davis in a 3 on 3 game.

Since we don't know what 2020 will bring, we gotta have the conversation of which 3 man team you go with now IMO.
Understanding the importance of the 3, I think it'll also be tougher to get 3s. There will be no transition 3s, and certainly less help defense/rotations to get open looks. Guys will have to iso and do their best to get a stop IMO.
That being said, if you take Curry, you're going to be at a huge liability IMO defensively where you almost can't double and hope for rotation type help defense. You need great 2 way players or guys with length who could at least hold their own(thinking of AD, not known as a great defender, but I think he could hold his own in this scenario)

I stumbled across the USA National 3-on-3 team page not that long ago. Right now it's three random guys who played overseas. I think there's a big tourney and the winners represent the US.

Sheed's turn to give his thoughts on his championship team vs 2017 Warriors:
Sheed: “Oh, we’d run through them. Not even close. We play defense.”
Sheed: “I’d agree to a certain point. But I think the Warriors’ defensive strategy is, I’ma put up more shots than you. And if you try to match that, then you assed out because they got exceptional shooters.
“So that’s their whole defensive thing. I don’t call it good defense if the man came down and he shot a jump shot or shot a three and missed it, and the Warriors went back down to the other end and scored it.
“That’s not good defense, and that’s what happens a lot in this game now. They’re not shutting nobody down. Even though you can’t shut a scorer down—you can slow him down. “With the way that we played in Detroit, we’d lock [players] down. The things that we did in Detroit will never be done again.

I just do not get how former players can say such idiotic things about the game lol. I mean Sheed was actually a smart player (basketball IQ wise) so how can he say this with a straight face
