I know I am repeating myself, but I am very, very thankful for hockey officials. They do the job correctly and have the technology in place to correct their mistakes; which they are happy to do.

I love random forums.
"World cup refs suck...not that it mattered but England clearly scored...and Teves was 22 kilometers(went metric on yo punk ass) OFFSIDES! Not that it matters, Argentina's gonna hammer the McDonald's staff."

Yes, the refs let Tevez turn and rip one. Argentina's done nothing to win this match.

I dont know who that Tevez dude is but he is now easily my favorite player in this Cup.
Dude sprints nonstop all over the field and just plays like a mad man.
Argentina is fun as hell to watch.

they took advantage of all of their opportunities, which many have not during this tournament (cough David Villa), so I would say they did as much as necessary.
...I think the Germans are gonna knock 'em out, just hoping for a huge line like Mexico got because the ARG keeper looked like a mental midget out there tonight

Tevez, also one of my favorites. Playing with Messi doesnt hurt in getting you some space but definitly a world class player on his own.
Disappointed in the US result, strikers really a no show the majority of the WC. I hope Altidore was hurt against Ghana because he looked just plain lazy to me, I dont know how many times a midfielder had brought the ball to the top of the 18 and Altidore just stood there with 2 or 3 defenders standing around him and there was no movement, even the announcers were begging him to get wide and not keep everything so closed up, but I counted at least 5 or 6 times he just stood in a crowd not even an option to get the ball. No runs no anything.
Just disappointed because while this team doesnt have much depth they still had some talent , and great heart. And they could have done better then what they showed, especaily against Ghana.

One of the worst decisions Manchester United ever made: signing Berbatov, and letting Tevez go. Dude is a fucking bulldog out there.

FIFA announced that they changed the rules early this morning. This is the way the goal line was SUPPOSED to painted:
England didn't get the memo, apparently.

I agree, I dont have alot of soccer knowledge but i even told my wife Altidore must be injuried cause he really hadnt looked good the whole cup especially against Ghana. And Ill watch the rest of the world cup because ive become a fan. I will go on to say, they need something video replay or such, cause the refs are not making the right calls. Eng/Ger should have been tied going into the switch, say what you want but maybe England comes out with a different mind set instead of chasing 1.

FIFA is never going to use replay on offsides calls. There is no use complaining because it will never happen. period. The goal line calls? they might. Sadly, a call like the England game is what might finally spark them to do it. They could either go high tech with a tiny microchip in the ball that will do something when crossing, or lower tech with the 4th official watching a screen.
You have to realize is that they have 3 officials out on the field and they can't see everything. What I am guessing, is that the linesman knew he was offside, but believed that he never touched the ball. It was a very light touch and at full speed, and how far he was (it was the far post from him), he may have missed it. Americans are pissed about the Slovakia call, and while it is universally accepted that he was on, it was a 50-50 challenge and at real speed and from the angle the ref had, I thought he was off at first glance. In this World Cup we have had over 50 matches right now and they have only 4 or 5 goal calls. Less than 1 in 10 matches. It was unlucky that it was 2 on the same day.
Soccer is filled with traditionalists and they do not want change. You can complain, but just enjoy watching 90+ minutes of sports with only 1 commercial break.

To say never is stubborn. At some point the sport will grow and use technology just like all the others have started to. It may take them longer but they will slow become better at getting these calls right.
