Experimenting with trying to get Kobe,Harden, and Lowry in the same lineup. I did it here but my bigs are very risky:

Lowry
Vasquez
Kobe
Harden
Hayward
McDaniels
Humphries
Donatas
Tyler Zeller

with stocks doing 'fake money' trading is completely pointless cause in real time when the stocks are moving you can't replicate what its like to lose/make money. but in something like fanduel, you can absolutely 'practice' with fake money.

create lineups every night. see what you'd have scored, figure out the avg's of the 50/50 scores (not exactly sure how you can do that) and then keep track

start doing some analysis on your results. see what you can figure out and if you trust the data/results get back in. if you don't then stay away.

This is what I thought about doing Dave.
I lost $20 pretty quickly, so I stepped back and been trying to see how I would do.

I don't know how to see how people finished in different contests though. You can't see the scores without being entered into one.
Unless that is something I cannot figure out.

Good points, I'll continue to make daily lineups. Granted, that'll probably push me to deposit money sooner, but still a good point lol.

Also, I've tried every which way, and I think i've posted it here before, I've yet to figure out how to(if possible) view standings on 50/50s that I'm not involved in, so that may be difficult to track. I could ask Corey to provide a daily report. :)

Though it still seems that if the projections are accurate, in the long run I should be able to even randomly pick a team and hit the projection half the time, generally speaking, no?

Yea I wouldnt mind helping as I am consistently looking at the bottom, middle, and top points to see where they usually fall. Thats why it was weird when I got my 271 that broke the streak. I've never lost with that amount but I have won with 240ish line ups.

Obviously you don't have to look at every game you play, but even if you sample five 50/50s you play per night and report back what the last person to finish in the top half scored, i'll track and average em out.

Every couple of days I track my score vs the projected scores both from BM so I can add it to that list.

I quit using that RotoGrinders bankroll tracker as the profit graph couldn't go much lower after my latest nosedive.

i don't think you're viewing projections properly and/or putting too much into it.

yes, you should look at it to help determine but i don't think its fair to always be comparing vs it. to be honest, i've never looked at the projections til i heard you guys doing it.

think of it like a batter who's a .340 hitter. you pick him one night and he goes 0-4 or 1-3 or 1-4. its one night. granted you have shit the bed a lot of nights in a row, but i'd guess the projections are fairly accurate over a long period and rarely right on a night to night basis. it's just something to guide you. if you're picking between Joe Johnson at 23.6 and Eric Bledsoe at 23.3 solely because of the .3 i think you are looking at it too closely.

granted, i can understand the flip side of 'not thinking' and trusting the #'s... but when the variance is that low, its not really trusting #'s as much as it is unrealistic expectation for accuracy.

Nah, I'm thinking of it exactly like you are, I was just wondering aloud how I can miss the projection 70% of the time. It had to be either high projections, a bad run, or infinite Shel luck.

I obviously get the variance of a one night sample, I just only see one side of that variance lately that had me questioning.

Corey, you've claimed to spend about 15 minutes a day in roster building on BM(before the pregame injury check). I'm gonna call shenanigans on that.

Every time I try to go in there, you're in there and we're stumbling over each other.

It's exactly at the same time you are it seems. Every single time.

The roster is built normally in 15 minutes but I like to look at game logs of random players.

I've lost 5 nights in a row.

Built a lineup for tonight. 299 projection.

Since I'm not betting, there's virtually zero shot that I lose. I'd probably win the 57,000 entry nightly GPP too.

Good luck fellas!

Kyle O'Quinn is a gigantic black dude? That's hilarious. That'd be like Jerome Black being a small Italian guy.

Value Ratio Player Pos Team Opp Salary
53.76 56.00 Kyle Lowry Submit PG TOR CLE $9,600
41.01 52.58 Rajon Rondo Submit PG BOS LAL $7,800
28.60 62.17 Greivis Vasquez Submit PG TOR CLE $4,600
40.91 51.79 Eric Bledsoe Submit SG PHO @ DAL $7,900
29.93 52.50 KJ McDaniels Submit SF PHI OKC $5,700
20.57 51.43 Josh McRoberts Submit PF MIA @ MIL $4,000

28.12 78.11 Kyle O'Quinn Submit C ORL @ UTA $3,600

Choosing Rondo over Carter-Williams and leaving $600 on the table. Let's see! No GPP game tonight, I don't think.

So I forgot, last night I randomly and very quickly signed up for a freeroll on DK. 3008 entries, top 5 pay each a $5 or something.

i'm currently in 9th place of 3008 and I have at least 24 more minutes remaining more than the 8 guys ahead of me, and no one for quite a few spots has more minutes left than me, though many also have the same amount of minutes left.

Let's win that freeroll!!!
