Maybe it was fabricated to bring in new viewers because their ratings are tanking?

Re: Random Discussions
Just found out that I will take over as Site Lead here in Iraq. All it entails is more paperwork and the same amount of flying. No pay raise in terms of hourly pay but I do get to charge an extra 8 hours a week on top of my 84 hours a week I charge now. It ends up being an extra $400+ every 2 weeks, or $10,000+ a year.
I was going to take over but my R&R didn't coincide with the changeover so they were going to give it to another guy. Found out that the other guy was booted from his last post because of some alcohol related incident, whatever that means. So they are throwing me back into it, with this guy under me.
It's definitely something I wanted. After 21 years in the Army I just wanted to be another guy. Now that I have done this a little bit I have a hard time just being another guy. I am used to being in charge, 18 years of my Army career I was in charge one way or another.
I am looking forward to the extra responsibility. The one thing I can't wait to do is interacting with the customer, SEALs and Marine Special Operations. The problem with everyone out here is they are all college grads with no military experience and can't talk the same language as them. I understand that language and hope to help them get the most out of us.
Things are looking up. Too bad that the wife wants me done with this in January when I get done with my year. I need to talk her into letting me do 3 month rotations with 1 month off, unless I can talk the company into letting me do 3 months out and 2 or 3 months back home, which would be ideal. work half the year and still make $80/90k

It might have to deal with being gone 4+ years over the last 9 years and 6 of the last 12 years.
Great thing about her is that if I express that I really want to come back she'd let me. But on the flip side, if she truly wanted me back tomorrow I'd drop all this shit to be by her side. I think we are both too head strong to ask for what we want and we just let this little dream play out.
