I can't stand Kaepernick, take your millions to play a game. It's not a place to disrespect the flag because you want to take a stand on a social issue.
With that being said, I have no problem with what the guys did in the 68 Olympics. Raising a fist is showing your contempt for social injustices but they didn't turn their back to the flag nor did they take a knee when the anthem cane on.

If people protested by demonstrating in a way that didn't draw attention to the fact they were protesting, did they even protest in the first place?
Kaepernick wasn't blind to the fact that doing what he was doing was going to raise many people's anger and draw attention. He also met with some of those people and had actual conversations about what he was doing and why he was doing it. He wasn't demonstrative or derogatory toward the anthem, he took a silent knee. He felt strongly enough about an issue that he demonstrated this on a national stage in a manner that he knew he'd draw negative attention for and was willing to do that in order to draw attention to what he was demonstrating for.
Besides the fact that prior to 2009, NFL players weren't even on the field during the National Anthem. Do we want to take bets on the fact that many players that were in the locker room while the anthem was being played were probably sitting down, not paying attention, or listening to something else on their own headphones? But because we couldn't see it, it makes it ok while this is not?
There were 35 players last year that performed some kind of demonstration during the anthem. Are we still talking about all of them? Clearly not. He's a scapegoat now and the easy pickings for people to hate on.

The third paragraph makes no sense... because I was in the bathroom and didn't even know it was going on and I didn't face the flag does that mean I protested? Of course guys were sitting down and listening to music, they were still in the locker room...
He's a scapegoat because he was first. If he was the 35th guy to do it, they'd be talking about someone else. It wasn't him. It was the act that people are hating on.
I can see both sides of the thing. Don't feel real strongly either way. But at the end of the day, the 32 NFL teams are out there to make money. That's what they started for. That's what they're there for. If a team thinks they will make less money because they sign him and have fallout and the added skills he brings don't outweigh the negative press, then that's their perogative. He has the right to do what he did. They have to the right to not sign him. It's a business. Plain and simple.

I don't care one bit about the kneeling.
As Reign just showed, the socks for me just proved that he doesn't have the correct mindset, at all.
He's not interested in unity, you can't argue that and then turn around and wear socks like that. If he's wearing those socks, you can imagine how much he really hates all cops.

I don't get this if you were in the army stuff. I was in the army and I am cool with it. One could argue if you are in the army you should be even more ok with it since you are defending his right to be able to do that.
As far as Kap not getting signed, I think he has regressed and is more of a backup so I get why an owner would not want all the negative press and coverage over a guy who is likely not a difference maker

So you admit he just hates cops and doesn't want to unite cops and black people.
I guess you're proving my point with that line.

"I wore these socks, in the past, because the rogue cops that are allowed to hold positions in police departments, not only put the community in danger, but also put the cops that have the right intentions in danger by creating an environment of tension and mistrust. I have two uncles and friends who are police officers and work to protect and serve ALL people. So before these socks, which were worn before I took my public stance, are used to distract from the real issues, I wanted to address this immediately." - Kaep
thats for his socks. he has family in the fucking police force lol

Its clearly a racial thing and a country found on protest wahwahs when a guy takes a knee at a football game, is just mind boggling.
I learned how to do the Rock's eyebrow (1 eyebrow up only) during Grade 8 national anthem standing cause it was so god damn boring. I can only imagine what others have done during the anthem.

Not sure that's a good thing considering how much he has failed to maximize those "big breaks"

how many 'breaks' has he got?
he played 1 season basically in Miami as a starter and went 6-6 in 12 starts (16/9 td/int). Last year he got 3 regular season starts and went 2-1.
I don't know if I necessarily think he's 'better' than anyone, but I don't think he's any worse and I think he puts his team in a better chance to win than Tannehill. Moore isn't Elway, but he's been pretty good every time I've watched him play. I just think Tannehill sabotages his teams chances of success because of his insistence on padding his stats/lack of risk taking. the amount of times I've seen him on 3rd and 17 go to his first read which was a 7 yard out has to be in the dozens.

There is a reason he is a lifetime backup QB.
Going with the pros assessment of Matt Moore over yours.

A couple of the advanced metrics guys say Tannehill is the most underrated QB in the league.
