The supposed deal has NE giving us their 1st and us giving NE our 2nd rounder, only 11 pick difference.
But it's good having the 1st rounder as you have a 5th year team option is the way I understand it.
I do think the Cooks era is over, it's gotten pretty bad. And all things considered, it's solid value. Both guys will get their payday, Butler just 1 year sooner.

What's gotten pretty bad? Is he beefing with teammates or staff? I hadn't heard about that.

The Twitter/Instagram petty stuff, the usual. THat's definitely a thing.
Not sure what caused it, but the word is that Cooks wants to be the #1 guy, which ain't happening now that Thomas had that crazy rookie season.
There's basically twitter beef, if you will, with Cooks against Thomas and Snead.
Totally intriguing stuff!!!!! Read all about it here!

Per Mort:
Cowboys now expect to trade Tony Romo to Broncos or Texans, sources say. Broncos talking with Jets about Trevor Siemian.

What's more dumb?
Paying a team to take Brock Osweiller off your hands?
or
Taking on Brock Osweiller's contract?

They have the cap room. They can cut him after this year with no money owed if he sucks. And they basically got paid a 2nd rounder to take him
Start him.
Kessler backup.
Draft a guy this year to sit back and learn
Not the worst thing I've seen them do, that's for sure

Sounds like they wont even be waiting and will cut him immediately.
Imagine being Brock Osweiler and that wave of emotions.
Huge contract starting QB
Traded to the Browns which is worse than being unemployed.
Being unemployed and cheering for another new contract and not having to play in Cleveland.
I love sports.

He may get paid $16 mil to NOT play football this year... Could be worse.

So CLE, in essence, just paid $16mil for a 2nd rounder?

basically, but if you consider they have like 100 mil in cap space its money well spent.
brock is gonna get a new contract now as a backup somewhere. last year will probably end up being the worst year of his professional career and also be the year that changes his families life forever... amazing

Possibly. But in all likelihood it won't be that much money. Whatever another team
Signs him for will offset the 16. And if they trade him, they'll retain some but not all.
