You’re just starting and based on what you said you don’t really know ins and outs about golf I’d assume (not that it’s totally necessary). But understanding basic golf theory is pretty big. Types of shot/ club selection/Loft/shot shaping/ approaches to green based on slope, risk reward of going for it etc.

It’s not like you need to be a master of it but with more reps you’ll figure a lot of that out.

With that said, even if you did understand all that the game has a steep learning curve. When I first got it I shot high 70s for at least 2-3 weeks before I figured it out and I didn’t join tgctours for a couple months.

Just keep playing and you’ll figure it out

Putting is tricky and a little different from previous versions and takes some getting used to and the game is slightly more penal (yup I said penal) in terms missing your tempo and swing plane but overall it’s very smooth and I’ve enjoyed my rounds .

I had real tough time tho until I figured out short putting.

Quick putting tip if you're struggling. Not sure if it's a setting you can turn on/off, hopefully can turn it off but...

If you hold A(or X on the PS4 I assume) it'll show you the exact line the putt will go as you have it set up. That's obviously not something I'd plan to have at your side long term, but while still learning and getting the feel for it that should really help you to tell if you judged your putt correctly or not.

Not sure, good question. I'm guessing you can go calibrate again, but I do wonder if you can reset it to default.

Like most things with this game, I did improve a bit. You'd think it would help and be much easier since it's your own swing tempo but I was just awful at first.

Played TPC Boston as part of the official PGA Tour 2K21 online society, a 2 round event. 1st round I shot a +17. 2nd round I was +11 through 7 holes. Then I guess it finally clicked a bit and the final 11 holes I had 10 pars and 1 birdie. And in those final 11 holes, I wasn't even good with my swing tempo, I just wasn't horrific like I was the first 1.5 rounds after calibrating.

Can we play in weekly tournaments with each other? That would be the only reason for me to get it. I need something else to beat Nick at

Next thing that messed me up is I moved to Master swing, that was a bad idea lol. Down to Pro now, still tough, but slowly improving.

Did you have to download any extra game data when you first fired it up? Went to pick it up today but walmart was out and gamestop closed as I was walking into the store.

I cannot figure out how to connect to my hotel internet on the PS4. I connect to the wifi but then it needs me to connect to the internet and put in a password. I open up the web browser but it doesn't load due to me not connected to the interwebz

I'm not ready for Masters. Tried it, no go.

Easing myself in with Pro first, will eventually work my way up to Master.

Seems like you'd be better to just jump right in and take the beating now, than have to relearn over and over.

tgttours released their projected settings today.

they really trying to separate casual golfers from the better ones i guess. the settings are pretty rough. masters with no meters on.

gonna be hard.

my controller is old and i can't pull back my putts slowly and its killing me, i know how to make the short putts but because i get that yippy laggy type pullback on the putts sometimes i have to pull it back harder to start the motion and it fucks me. i played my society first round today at Pebble and shot +12. we playing masters with meters on currently, but i'm sure we'll end up switching to the tgctours settings soon
