The timing stinks as last season was the first I could remember in a long time where I felt we did a good job picking up useful free agents.


We usually always say there's nearly a playoff team in free agency but last season there wasn't much out there.

Now we're about to revert back.

Player demands are driven by available money.

If guys with tons of money do not spend, these players will have demands that no one else can afford.

I didn't know that.

I also assume the algorithm for '19 has been tweaked.

I doubt we have THAT much more money available than ever before, but demands seem to be calculated a bit differently.

if u add up the demands it comes to $765,999,842.00 . if u divide by 30 teams thats $25,533,328.07/team avg. iunno if we added everyones available money it would add up.

I'm kinda in the same position as Nick where I have about $20 million to spend, but the top tier guys are gonna want way more than that

i like it. finally some crippling contracts instead of stars making like 11-15m/yr. I crippled a dude in an online league once making him pay 55m/yr for a SP who got hurt in his 1st yr. #feelsgood

The player demands will also drop a little as the FA period goes on. They always do.

If player demands stay this high, we may have to lift the $50M cap on teams.
I understand the player demands is somehow factoring in available money, but no one is gonna have or pay some dude $50M per year.
