Re: Tesla Talk
When you and Dave just went back and forth for 2 pages about the stock and how Dave wanted to see a profit...? I felt like at the very least you'd post it with some sort of winky face to Dave...

Re: Tesla Talk
Watched this yesterday on the way home from KC. It was a nicely produced piece and Elon has a nice bit in the Documentary nick posted.
in all seriousness. I do think that this is the wave of the future. However, in order not to completely destroy the economy by robbing peter to pay paul and bankrupt the hundreds of thousands of smaller companies that provide existing services and goods, a massive retraining of the workforce to assist them in the transition of current job skills to newer more technical jobs needs to be a real part of the conversation and I haven't heard much if any dialogue surrounding that.
Elon tells DiCaprio that 100 of these factories are needed to remove fossil fuels from the global energy equation and move to sustainable energy at 20 billion give or take per factory that seems very feasible.nick wrote:

Re: Tesla Talk
And they are off....the push to catch Tesla by Fisker with their to be released Fisker E-Motion
The car, slated for an official reveal in mid-2017, will pave the way for a more consumer friendly electric car that Fisker claims will be cheaper than the Chevy Bolt and Tesla Model 3, which are priced at $37,500 and $35,000 before federal tax exemptions, respectively.

Re: Tesla Talk
Reading the article, Elon will have sent us to Mars before the Fisker is in "eMotion"
The official reveal is mid 2017 for the one that rivals the Tesla Model S, so the cheaper version seems to be a loooooong ways away.

Re: Tesla Talk
I am loving the competition from even the likes of GM and Porsche realizing the market need and growing interest by consumers.
If these competitors figure out how to build a charging network like Tesla or become compatible with them to help enlarge that network as well, that would be huge.
The one thing Tesla has on all of their competitors is the Supercharging network and battery technology. The technology aspect has been offered by Elon for years to share with anyone who wanted it and seems some have, and some are going their own way like Fisker.
Until other cars can figure out a fast charging like Tesla, they will continue to lag behind but still making some big strides.

Re: Tesla Talk
Fisker Karma has been around a while.
They only got like 32 miles on a single charge and then a gas engine. More like a hybrid.
It's a very nice ride

The Fisker Karam Wiki page getting some hits today!!!
Looks like the business side didn't go so well, and they went bankrupt.
That car looks awesome though. And those champagne bottle holders!!!

Re: Tesla Talk
If only we read the article Luis posted...
Fisker was the force behind a luxury hybrid called the Karma. The Karma had a host of battery issues before the company behind the car, Fisker Automotive, ultimately went bankrupt.

Re: Tesla Talk
Big news today regarding Supercharging. Was only a matter of time with the release of the 3 and the current infrastructure of Superchargers being congested in some area such as the West coast.
Glad I am grandfathered in if you will even though I havent gone on a road trip with mine yet and havent supercharged once.
Seems reasonable and may even boost numbers to close the year out as a bonus as well.

Ensuring Use for Long-Distance Travel
For Teslas ordered after January 1, 2017, 400 kWh of free Supercharging credits (roughly 1,000 miles) will be included annually so that all owners can continue to enjoy free Supercharging during travel. Beyond that, there will be a small fee to Supercharge which will be charged incrementally and cost less than the price of filling up a comparable gas car. All cars will continue to come standard with the onboard hardware required for Supercharging.
We will release the details of the program later this year, and while prices may fluctuate over time and vary regionally based on the cost of electricity, our Supercharger Network will never be a profit center.
These changes will not impact current owners or any new Teslas ordered before January 1, 2017, as long as delivery is taken before April 1, 2017.
The Road Ahead
Just as you would charge your cell phone, we believe the best way to charge your car is either at home or at work, during the hours you’re not using it. For travelers, the Supercharger Network has become a powerful, unique benefit of Tesla ownership. As we approach the launch of Model 3, this update will enable us to greatly expand our Supercharger Network, providing customers with the best possible user experience and bringing sustainable transport to even more people.

The future is now people!
Where you can get into a car and with a tap of a button it goes faster and increases mileage range!
Sure it costs $10k but still!!
