It's a no call cause it started at the line, if the NIU player had let it knock him down and not fought back he might have gotten the call.
I was thinking this but didnt know if it was me overreactingshel311 wrote:Wow, that was PI, big time.
pretty sad you gotta flop to get a call no?fsupenguin wrote:It's a no call cause it started at the line, if the NIU player had let it knock him down and not fought back he might have gotten the call.
Huh?!fsupenguin wrote:It's a no call cause it started at the line, if the NIU player had let it knock him down and not fought back he might have gotten the call.
isnt that what the 5 yard rule is for? In the first 5 yards its fair, after that and while the ball is in the air, it is a penaltyfsupenguin wrote:It's a no call cause it started at the line, if the NIU player had let it knock him down and not fought back he might have gotten the call.

well, Matt Millen agrees with you if that makes you feel any better.fsupenguin wrote:It's a no call cause it started at the line, if the NIU player had let it knock him down and not fought back he might have gotten the call.
You can jam the receiver, NIU had poor timing and execution. A better placed throw, or throwing it a few seconds later probably would have gotten the call too.nick wrote:pretty sad you gotta flop to get a call no?fsupenguin wrote:It's a no call cause it started at the line, if the NIU player had let it knock him down and not fought back he might have gotten the call.

I think Holmey is right.

but that logic would have made it pass interference. The FSU DB kept contact after 5 yards AND while the ball was in the air.fsupenguin wrote:Thisbuckeye76 wrote:NCSUholmey wrote:isnt that what the 5 yard rule is for? I think Holmey is right.
The ball was in the air while they were still within 5 yards, and sure it could have been called PI, but if the refs throw the flag on that then all a QB has to do it fire it out right away to any receiver who gets jammed to get a call.NCSUholmey wrote:but that logic would have made it pass interference. it was 3rd and goal from the 8, the contact went past the goallinefsupenguin wrote:The ball was in the air while they were still within 5 yards, and sure it could have been called PI, but if the refs throw the flag on that then all a QB has to do it fire it out right away to any receiver who gets jammed to get a call.
Yes, perhaps I am wrong. Also when a receiver fights back the refs tend to not throw the flag, maybe that was influencing factor.NCSUholmey wrote:it was 3rd and goal from the 8, the contact went past the goallinefsupenguin wrote:The ball was in the air while they were still within 5 yards, and sure it could have been called PI, but if the refs throw the flag on that then all a QB has to do it fire it out right away to any receiver who gets jammed to get a call.
