This is my biggest pet peeve with this game.

Theoretically, I'd love to just play online, but nowadays, it's often easier to play offline games/seasons vs the computer so I can pause or save midgame any time I need to.

That being said, just like with every other version of this game, when I get it and learn the controls, I always take a really good team and play a really shitty team on Pro level and then All Star Level. And this version is no different, on Pro Level, I win by 30 and the cpu shoots 30% from the field. On All star level, I played one 12 minute quarter game with OKC vs CLE, I quit mid 4th and they were up 110-78 and had 84 points in the paint and 63% shooting from the field LOL. I think I'm at least decent in this game, and I tried everything but they just get anything they want in the paint.

There's no in between. I hate messing with sliders, but I've tried that as well, and can't ever get it perfected.

That's pretty much what I experienced. I picked up the game and just jumped in, it was on pro level, and I won by 15. Was in control the whole time. That's when I asked what the settings were on the board. Because that seemed too easy. I went back and played on pro and definitely struggled. I'm getting the hang of it, but it does seem like the CPU plays perfectly. Only 3-5 TOs per game, over 60% shooting.

IDK if that just means that we have to get better and that there are some tricks to it or not. I'd assume so, because I can't believe that a game would be setup to produce these results with a high level of play. This is an user issue in mind, until I feel that I'm actually any good.

most of it has to do with how bad we are right now.

the key is always getting open looks. i'd imagine most of us aren't using the O button properly to create space before shooting and not running plays properly to create the open looks.

if you're not doing that sort of stuff you're going to have a tough time scoring consistently from the outside. i find it useful to play inside out... post up, look for cutters, look for open guys on the wings and stuff like that. i use Parker to get into the paint then either try draw fouls which he is good at or just dish it.

defensively, i try to do my best to just stay out of the way. if i'm caught near a guy i just be sure to put my hands up (makes a huge difference in terms of the opp hitting their shots) and on rebounds i just make sure i'm boxing my guy out and let the computer get the boards.

losing to OKC in a one possession game on All star in my 1st time playing the CPU doesn't seem to be all that bad.

reign, thats probably late for me to start... but look for me on AIM just in case.

I don't know, I tried a dynast last version well after the game had came out, used the Clippers on All Star level and I was like 2-8 or some shit before I decided to mess with sliders.

And offense wasn't the issue, I seemed to put up somewhere near real life averages. It's defense, the cpu just makes it so easy to get into the paint and they never miss.

It's frustrating.

yeah they definitely score it pretty well.

try not to guard the guy with the ball, cause if you do and youre out of place and he takes an open jumper, its going in.

and when the guy is going into the paint and going up, try to put your hands up... it contests the shot and really effects the shooter unless they know the buttons well enough (if its a user) to make an adjustment

2 good points and 2 things I caught onto in my 5th game last night. I used to love the step back 3. This version is a little different. I just have to be careful not to hop step into the trees, like I did a few times last night. As for the hands up thing, absolutely made a difference. For the first few games I was holding L2 and trying to manually cover and sometimes swipe at the ball (and of course block everything), then before the 5th game I cracked open the manual to see if I was missing something on D. Right stick. Big difference. I tried it in an earlier game and didn't see good results, when I tried it again in the 5th game, definitely noticeable after I stuck with it for awhile.

Things I know I need to work on:

- Post up moves
- Calling for cutters while posting (used to work great, Noah is perfect for this)
- Using different shot types (whole lot to learn here)
- Running more/better plays

Also, do you guys use directional passing or icon passing? Used to only use directional, but icon seems so much better.

Riccio - I reviewed the course setup for tonight and I don't feel like wasting 4hrs of my time. Skipping it. I'm already a week ahead of these slow asses. If I'm on AIM later, hit me up.

You're on my schedule now as well. Hit me up later tonight. I played a game when I got home and I got smashed, couldn't make a shot to save my life. I tried play on ball defense to see how that worked... TWolves had 1 TO and 4.23 billion points in the paint. Bad idea.
