Interesting enough, it wasn't too long ago I lose on a last second hail mary in the ACC title game, after going 12-0, just to see my Hokies voted out of the title game...

very true, very true, the drama, of the NDL.

Auburn still got in, because the team who finished third (Michigan State

) that season still had 2 losses, thus in the final BCS put Auburn in. When VT lost, I believe he missed out to another team with only 1 loss.
In Daw's example, if everyone had 2 losses but VT loses in the CC game to give him 1 loss, he's probably still going to the NC game. Youre comparing a situation where a late loss gives a team an equal amount of losses (Fla now has one loss) to a hypothetical where despite the loss, a team still has the best record (VT at 12-1). Im not agreeing or disagreeing, but its really apples and oranges there.
With regard to better wins/worse loss, its really splitting hairs. If youre going to call the loss to FSU a "better loss" than to ND, youd have to acknowledge beating Wisconsin twice are "better wins" than beating LSU twice (looking at Massey). All that being said, Ok St has a hell of a case as well

If you put that much trust in Massey Weas, then Oklahoma State is the pick at #2

AJ and I just blew up the Massey ratings. IU vs USF for the People's Championship.

I can get the link to show up, but at work, it never shows the actual teams' rankings, so that may be the same type of issue you're having.

Im looking at Wisconsin's record vs. LSU's record. Wisky had 1 win over a ranked team (ohio st) and 3 total losses, LSU had 2 wins over ranked teams (Ohio St. and Alabama) and two total losses. The SoS is skewed because of Ole Miss having so many simmed games. So I don't really see how you can say that Wisky had a better season than LSU...unless you are saying that the Massey is the ultimate factor in ranking teams. And after seeing 11-1 teams not get in the top 25 I think we can all agree it is not. Those teams might not have the SoS that everyone wants, but going 11-1 in this league with any team is impressive and should be recognized.

Massey lost me on this one. I'm 11-2, Wisky is 10-3. My SOS is like 12 and his is something like 50, and he's ranked ahead of me.
Silly Massey.
At least those rankings for us 2 loss teams don't mean much.
