my guess is that most of the teams are going to be 2 keepers at most. those guys will lose that round pick also.ajalves wrote:complete redraft or 1 keeper...![]()
i really dont care to be honest

DRiccio21 wrote:i want it to really be a decision if guys want to keep their stud or not. a guy who makes 15-17 mil is basically taking your whole salary... thats how i want it to be.doc wrote:What about making the cap 25 million to give guys more flexability or having a Bird exemption on a player 80 or below. That way it would guarantee you keeping a big time player with a huge salary but also keeping some sort of team your used too. What about FA guys that arent on a team? How do we account for them? All just thoughts and Im down for whatever
if its 25 mil then everyone can keep their stud and other players and there is no real internal debate.
FA guys will be their last year of NBA salary. current players will be avg of current contract.
Dwight Howard combined with a top 5 pick could get you back to respectability.doc wrote:Boy i wonder how many balls Im going to get and I need to start thinking who Im sending to the ping pong ball show.
Wasn't Howard a 1st round pick though? So, he wouldn't be able to keep him and pick in the 1st round right?DRiccio21 wrote:Dwight Howard combined with a top 5 pick could get you back to respectability.doc wrote:Boy i wonder how many balls Im going to get and I need to start thinking who Im sending to the ping pong ball show.

I'm telling you...It's going to get messy messy messy - this whole caveat of 'keeping' players then trading off that subsequent picks is a can of worms.DRiccio21 wrote:doh.dealer4014 wrote:Wasn't Howard a 1st round pick though? Doc's scenario is a prime example - Another would be Toro; does he get to keep Blake Griffin as well as keep his first round pick? Or better yet Packsy, who just may very well miss the playoffs, gets to keep Danny Granger but still is eligible for a lottery consideration?
I like the idea of capping the salary at like $20M for keepers & just keeping it at that - no additional tradeoffs. It's clear that we're leaning towards redrafting the majority of our teams anyways, so if guys want to keep their studs, then just move them to the back of the bus in the 1st Rd. If they keep two guys (no matter who those two are), move them to the back of the bus for 2 Rds; so forth and so on...
i've posted what is likely happening. there may be slight tweaks here or there, but for the most part its been decided how we're going forward.VeniVediV1ci wrote:i don't really have an opinion, just interested to see what we're thinking about doing in concrete fashion.
Will there be a vote or is it just up to dave?
I'm interested to see what happens
because i'm trying to have a sense of continuity in the league.Talented wrote:How bout we just redraft all together? The first one did go pretty smooth.
snake or not (could possibly do 1st couple rounds normal then a snake... still not sure) and a max amount of keepers are things i'm still thinking about.JohnnyP wrote:I understand what you are trying to do dave and i like it.
When you do the whole lottery thing, if Toro kept Griffen, lost his first round pick, would he still pick first in the second round? and are you doing a snake draft or no? Personally I do not think you should do a snake if you decide to do keepers.
