Goodell never wanted to NOT be somewhere more than eh wanted to not be right there at that very moment.

TIL, Atlanta-New Orleans actually has a rivalry. Interesting.

Oh yea, definitely.

We've played them twice per year for as long as I can possibly remember. Same with the Bucs. Not the Panthers though. Also used to be the same with the 49ers before realignment.

It's stupidly big. People here hate Atlanta.

Waiting to download the game so I can watch it.

Watched the halftime show on Youtube and it wasn't bad. She had a great opportunity and stage to push a political agenda and she refrained from it (minus the one part where she hugs the girl which I thought was tasteful). One of the better shows in the past couple of years.

I just don't understand why you would put this kind of artist at the halftime show though. Not many football fans are listening to Lady Gaga.

Football fans are already watching. You get the millions of non-football Gaga fans for a tad. (Like my wife)

Major props to her. She didn't lip sync AND she was physically out of breath with all the shit she was doing and still put on a hell of a performance. One of the better ones as of late.

For some reason, it just didn't do it for me.

Bruno Mars is the best recent one, he crushed it.

And I don't like either his or Gaga's music, but I can tolerate the SB performance and try to watch it objectively.

Tom Brady in the 4th quarter of his last year SBs:

34 of 42
370 yards passing

Don't like Bruno???? No wonder we can't make a trade. Watch his carpool karaoke, he is awesome

Frankly I was more impressed w Gaga hitting her notes while doing summersaults than I was with the comeback

In regards to Matt Ryan's choking rep and ATL deciding not to just run 3 times on 1st and 10 from the 22, and instead passing and getting themselves out of FG range, I saw this line about Matt Ryan:
You wouldn't throw a Hail Mary to Danny DeVito then get pissed at him because he didn't come down with it.

That's fantastic.

In that sequence there was also this play:
3rd and 23 at NE 35

(3:50 - 4th) (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass short left to M.Sanu pushed ob at NE 26 for 9 yards (L.Ryan). PENALTY on ATL-J.Matthews, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at NE 35 - No Play.
Going into it, you assume (correctly) that they'll try for a play of about 10 yards, get back into comfortable field goal range, and walk away up 11. They get the holding penalty, but missed on the play was a facemask on the tackle on Sanu that would have resulted in offsetting penalties and replaying the down. There was a lot of hands-to-the-face by both players in the tackle, including the Patriots defender with two hands full of facemask.

3 simple runs on 1st and 10 from the NE 22 would have burned up either time or NE's timeouts, then a likely chip shot type FG. Sure it's conservative, but you also may very well get another 1st down with how well Freeman was running.

That 2nd and 11 from the 23 play where Ryan took the 12 yard sack was easily the biggest play of the game IMO.

From the time the Falcons went up 25 to the time NE tied it up, the Falcons passed the ball 8 times, ran 4 times. Ouch!

Holding / Facemask v Facemask. Pretty sure Atl still gets the 10 yard penalty

Even though it's 2 penalties against 1, I'm fairly certain they all offset and replay the down.
