He was done.
Pitch count wasn't high but guys were beginning to get good hacks on him.
I'm a matchup guy and when you have 2 lefties coming up in a row, why wait until the 2nd one to go get him as he is coming out regardless.
You are right though. After the fact type stuff.

make em hit!!! It's the number 1 lesson I teach my kids team as we play. Same thing with them. Theoretically the most successful guys are geting out 70% of the time. So lets go at them.
Look at Wacha, the guy pounds the strike zone

And is in a rhythm of getting the ball and firing.
Was impressed with him as that changeup is almost as nasty as Anibal's in the Detroit series.

I'm not sure salty or drew could hit a ball off of a tee right now.

Just so ugly. At least drew has been solid defensively.
Salty, nothing to the table.
Worst start to a game ever. Stupid towels in St Louis.

It's such a stupid rule.
Dude is trying to catch the ball, gets tangled up on the ground with the runner who is 3 feet inside the baseline, and they call obstruction.
Again, right call, one of the worst rules in baseball.

That's a tough one to swallow but the rule was interpreted correctly and was called immediately.

I think it's a tough luck situation, but learning more about the exact rule, I don't know how it's a bad rule.

Did the home plate ump call it?

The ump in Nick's post called it originally and then the home plate ump upheld the original call. Safe to say that throws from home plate to 3rd base have made an impact on this series
