Joe said what he was told is that Helwani was told to quit reporting this stuff because they know he's getting it from someone in the company and it is going to cost someone their job when they find out who it is and Helwani said he wouldn't, so they banned him. Now let's say, you're running a company and you've got a new secret product that you've put together a big promotion for. You've put in tons of money and time to put the deal together, plan the announcement and when to put out your promo, then along comes some douche who announces it before you and kills pretty much all the hype and any impact your announcement would have had. Wouldn't you be pissed about it? Wouldn't you want to find out who in the company was leaking that kind of info and cut off access for the one guy that is always putting that info out? I can see the UFC's reasoning for it, if what Joe said was true.
a) Helwani is a reporter, his job is literally to report the stuff he got in trouble for
b) Helwani isn't an employee of UFC, although there is grey area here
c) stuff like your example happens ALL the time and is leaked ALL the time, by reporters with inside sources.
d) not sure how he's a douche, he's doing his job. i think it'd be a bit unfair if you were called a douche for doing what you're paid to do
e) i don't blame UFC for being pissed. but its their own fault for not managing the news better. you can make the life of a reporter difficult if you don't like him, but to ban him from the events and cutting his credentials for essentially doing his job properly is sour grapes.

I think Dave hit just about every important point. Keep in mind we're talking about one of the most boastful sports leaders in Dana White and a casino mogul in Lorenzo Fertitta. As someone here I think said... you don't get to the top of the casino industry by being a pushover or nice guy.

Seems like Joe Rogan will defend UFC pretty much no matter what, even when it's with some pretty silly points, like in what was posted above.

Yeah... always been that way. This is the man on the 6yr crusade to cover the finger holes in the gloves. Do your thing Joe.

He's just a douche. Has nothing to do with him doing his job.

Anybody got a Fight Pass login I could use. I literally want to use it to watch one fight (Micah Miller, Cole's little brother) tonight and that's it. Just don't want to have to go through the trouble making an account and then cancelling it.

Terrible news...
Canadian MMA veteran Ryan Jimmo died Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Edmonton, Alberta.
Multiple sources today confirmed news of Jimmo’s death following a report from CBC.ca. Jimmo, a seven-time UFC veteran who competed in the light heavyweight division, was 34 years old.
According to police, Jimmo was involved in an early morning incident in the parking lot of Edmonton’s H2O Lounge. Jimmo was reportedly walking away from the altercation when the men he was speaking to -- two Caucasian males in a dark-colored pickup truck -- accelerated and struck him. Police are currently searching for the suspects, who nearly hit another car as they fled the scene of the crime.
Jimmo was transported to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, according to the CBC report.
A powerful striker who learned karate from his black belt father, Jimmo rose to prominence in Canada’s Maximum Fighting Championship promotion. After winning and twice defending the MFC light heavyweight title, “The Big Deal” was called up to the big show, where he made a big impression in his July 2012 UFC debut by knocking out Anthony Perosh in just seven seconds.
Jimmo would ultimately compile a UFC record of 3-4; he had not competed since being released by the organization in mid-2015. At the time of his death, Jimmo’s MMA record stood at 19-5, with eight wins by way of knockout and two via submission.

I saw on bleacher report that he died but didn't know the details. That is crazy! That's why I try to walk away from altercations rather than going to my childhood first of blasting someone right in their mouth

It's fight week boys!
3 consecutive nights of UFC!
Here's some quick predictions on various fights from each card:
UFC Fight Night 90 - Thursday (Fight Pass):
Rafael dos Anjos over Eddie Alvarez (TKO)
--- Alvarez is a grinder, RDA has been a punching machine... doesn't match up well for Eddie.
Roy Nelson over Derrick Lewis (TKO)
--- Someone is getting knocked out... going with the guy who's only been KO'd once.
Alan Jouban over Belal Muhammad (TKO)
--- Muhammad could win a decision if he gets through 3 rounds safely. I don't think it happens.
Joseph Duffy over Mitch Clarke (TKO)
---- Yup, that's 4 knockout predictions on 1 card. Love the matchmaking. Too bad this is on Fight Pass.
The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale (FS1):
Claudia Gadelha over Joanna Jedrzejczyk (Submission)
--- I can't stand JJ. She literally disgusts me in every way possible. This is more of a "I want" than a prediction.
Will Brooks over Ross Pearson (Decision)
--- Terrible matchup for Pearson. Brooks is unlikely to knock him out, but I don't see Pearson accomplishing anything here.
Doo Ho Choi over Thiago Taveres (TKO)
--- Choi has been blasting everyone, might as well add another.
Jake Matthews over Kevin Lee (Decision)
--- Lee had a ton of hype early on, but has slowed down. Matthews looks like a solid prospect.
As for the finales, the matches aren't set yet... but I could see Tatiana Suarez winning and making it to the main card and I'd like to see Khalil Roundtree go up against Andrew Sanchez. Though I'm not sure anyone matches Andrew's all around skills.
UFC 200 (PPV):
Jon Jones over Daniel Cormier (Decision)
--- Bones won't KO Cormier and Cormier won't give up, but this could be a very one-sided decision.
Miesha Tate over Amanda Nunes (TKO)
--- I don't think Nunes is ready for Tate... or Zingano, Rousey, or Holm for that matter.
Frankie Edgar over Jose Aldo (TKO)
--- Edgar is focused on proving himself while Aldo is focused on Conor. Edgar is going to light him up.
Mark Hunt over Brock Lesnar (TKO)
--- I'll be rooting for Brock, but he's been off for 5 years while Hunt has been turning out lights. I really hope I'm wrong!
Cain Velasquez over Travis Browne (TKO)
--- It'll be slow at the start, but Cain will get him down and finish him with brutal ground and pound, setting up a Cain vs Stipe fight.
Gegard Mousasi over Thiago Santos (Submission)
---Prime Mousasi is a title threat, lazy Mousasi is a Fight Pass headliner. Hoping for Prime Mousasi.
Other winners: Hendricks, Dillashaw, Sanchez (FotN potential vs Lauzon), Miller, Zingano (hoping she's back in good form), Northcutt

Completely wrong here.
Cain blows out his knee while getting his hands wrapped. Fight is called before they walk out

I cannot wait for these fights to start. I might just sign up for my 7 days of free fight pass now for the fights tomorrow.
I'm loving the Ultimate Fighter. I was a fan of Rousey and was okay on Tate before their season and absolutely loathed Rousey after that season and became a HUGE fan of Tate. This goes for this seasons coaches as well. Not saying I was a fan of J.J. but wasn't too high on Claudia Gadelha. But damn! She is an amazing coach, great technical coaching with a little mix of some motherly love for her team. Huge fan of her now as well.

RIDICULOUS!!!!
I dint understand how Lezner/Hunt is the main event when you have 2 other belts on the line. Miesha fight should headline the card
