Both the scouts I had didn’t agree. I actually love scouting discrepancies. It makes for fun like this. Another league I’m in doesn’t have scouts and I everyone knows who’s good and who’s not. Kinda bleh.shel311 wrote:About half of those from me.
I didn't say #1, I don't think, but I sure am thinking it. We had the Boston draft. Boston's Farm is bottom 5, my Farm is top 5...and yet somehow this dang Crypto expert prefers players in the Boston Farm over Sheltown.
I also have Ted as commenter #2 and Billy as #6.

My scout is also better than Corey's at scouting Amateurs and Minors...and also makes 4 times as much per yearshel311 wrote:I didn't say #1, I don't think, but I sure am thinking it. And yet with those ratings, I'm guessing we'd all assume that Corey's prospects will be better than mine, which brings me back to:

I think Corey just threw in #6 to make himself feel better
I do think this could be a case of more is less though. Individually I think you would have gotten less prospects, but better quality prospects. But who knows, maybe your scout knows something the rest of ours don't.

Medina is going to be a star in a season or two. Clarence Hall, while not really a "superstar" is still one of the better CF'ers in the game right now, and the pitcher will be more than good enough for Boston with his lineup.nick wrote:so who did Boston get in that trade thats a superstar? im confused.

Digging into it deeper, this is really the first time I went and looked at all the players leaving Boston, Gob got some decent players, but again I feel he probably could have gotten higher quality but not nearly as many. Also, quite a few of them are RP's/CL's and I personally just don't put much stock into them when trading position players and/or SP's.

Re: 2055 Season Thread... (Title undetermined)
The real take away for me here is that Boston has learned his lesson. He is no longer trying to stockpile his minors. The game has changed to trading for young guys that are ML ready now so as to avoid having to do another "Boston Draft"

Re: 2055 Season Thread... (Title undetermined)
I think Kikuchi is the most valuable player in this deal. I personally think Terry Brooks will be very good. Scouts differ a lot and that is how it goes but I think Ryan did very well here. If I had Medina and Jones and I could flip them for Kikuchi I could not agree fast enough. Brooks and all those other guys for Hall seems like more than enough.

I feel you. I thought about that but when my top 10 spec list includes guys in the 30s it really opened my eyes to lack of depth I had in the minors. According to the scouting I have I got back 2 blues, 5 greens, and 4 yellows. And you're right quite a few are RP but that doesn't mean they can't start *cough* Jorge Mejia *cough* (A RP I also traded away a few years ago haha).Wasted Memory wrote:Digging into it deeper, this is really the first time I went and looked at all the players leaving Boston, Gob got some decent players, but again I feel he probably could have gotten higher quality but not nearly as many.
