Tweet of the night
Kevin Ollie has spent the last 3 hours with his team just pointing at this diagram

Poythress is fine, although the same cannot be said for this Wisconsin player. I believe his memorial service is tomorrow
All joking aside....this was the goal before the season, this was the expectation. However, the ride has been better than if we'd dominated, it made me appreciate this team and these players even more so. I'm going to miss watching Randle just take over, but I've enjoyed it while he's been here. Aaron Harrison went from a guy who would disappear, to a guy who will be a legend of the program forever, regardless of the outcome Monday night. His shot against Louisville made him a fan favorite. His shot against Michigan made him a legend. His shot last night.....it had to end up in his hands. There's an angle from behind that shows Andrew yelling "Go! Go!" to him, telling him to take the shot when he got the bit of space:
This team went from being absolute crap four weeks ago, to being one of the most memorable and enjoyable teams to ever wear the uniform. Alex Poythress has been huge during this run. He never pouted about being a starter last year and being sent to the bench this year. He's finally realized during this tournament that he can be a dominant player when he gives the effort. He has made some memorable baskets of his own and, if not for Aaron's daggers, he'd be the one getting the praise for us winning. That tip-in late in the game last night was a terrific athletic feat.
I'm hoping that these Cardiac Cats have one more amazing performance left in them. Win or lose, I'm proud of them and I'm thankful that, while some of the fans (myself included) gave up on them, they never gave up.
Good luck tomorrow night Dave and hopefully we get our revenge for 2011. Care to place a friendly side-bet?
Btw, a side note: the "fans" who are being absolute dumbasses in Lexington should all be arrested. They're a disgrace to the program. If our old president were still in charge, the students setting shit on fire would be expelled already; our new one just tweets out "hey, let's celebrate nice" and then does nothing while people throw flaming t-shirts into groups of people, set couches/cars/houses on fire, and people get shot.

I thought only Louisville fans behaved like that and UK fans were too dignified and classy to do that stuff.

I bashed J earlier in the year about Kentucky. told him the guards weren't good enough, its fitting I get to eat crow if my team loses. on the flip side, I hated Shabazz all thru his career cause of his bad shot selection and his 40% inefficient shooting, same as I did with Kemba before his big run. so its fitting i'm eating crow with that as well.
my 'take' on the game is as follows:
UConn plays great D. they play a slower pace and really force you to make shots. our interior defense isn't as strong as our perimeter defenders so the bigs of Kentucky can do some work if they can get the ball into the post. To me, the key is to keep Kentucky out of transition and off the offensive glass. UConn has forced just about every team with all sorts of styles (Iowa St. and Nova faster pace/Florida slower pace) to play straight up vs their half court D. that has kept games with less possessions and they've done a nice job limiting 2nd chance points. with Bazz and Daniels scoring offensively throughout the tourney that's been enough to keep us in striking distance. where we 'win' is when we can get into the bonus. UConn is one of the top FT shooting teams, as i'm sure you've seen. offensively they really aren't 'that good'. they are an average offensive group for a good team (only around like 40th nationally in off efficiency) so the ability for them to get into the bonus has been a HUGE factor in them making this run. I actually cheer for fouls as much as I cheer for hoops at this point because its that important to offset our weaknesses offensively.
running the kenpom #'s, Kentucky wins the game 50.3% of the time with a 1 pt average margin. so the game is basically a toss up. i'm hoping for a good one and for Shabazz to go out the same way he came in, with a national title. despite my feelings for him over the years, he'd be up there as the most accomplished Husky ever with a win tonight and his 2nd title.

Most are. Louisville has tons of UK fans, so do many other areas of the state....it's mostly drunk students using this as an excuse to act like idiots.
Like I said, they're a disgrace to the university, the alumni, and the program. I wish they'd get cracked down on.

It was a local CBS station that bought the tickets, it wasn't the network itself. And the guy and a friend had to drive to Texas for the game in his friends mom's car. Doesn't sound so glamorous. But then again, if someone got me tickets to the game, I'd have my ass in a car driving to Texas too...

Oh, they said something different on the radio this morning, so was just going off what they said.
But yeah, still cool

I'd be driving too.
He is still an absolute tool for 1) getting the tattoo, 2) getting the tattoo done by a horrible artist, 3) and for not putting money on the team instead of getting a stupid tattoo.

I got laughed at by certain people when I said Randle was the most unguardable player in program history. It's awesome seeing four guys try to stop him and he still finds a way to finish.
I'm gonna miss him, one of my all time favorites

Watching Napier and Boatright in this game reminds me of those annoying fucks in FIFA online clubs that create the smallest dude possible and just run faster and move more quickly than anyone else.
