The team an hour away in Baton Rouge is rubbing off on them?
This has been a crazy game though. Our offense is sputtering with drops and penalties. Arizona has 10 points thanks to Max Hall fumbles on 3rd down, then falling forward for 1st downs and even a TD.
Just a weird ass game that really is a microcosm of our 2010 season thus far.

post superbowl hangover
Steelers went 8-8 after both superbowls and looked EXACTLY like they look...throw in some injuries, bad luck, more time to study what they are doing and everyone gunning for them and boom... knocked down a notch

I don't believe in the "everyone gunning for the Super Bowl winners the next year" theory.
But definitely some bad luck, lots of our own mistakes, and a million injuries as we're down to 3rd and 4th stringers at safety, or was until this week.

Saints fumble, Arizona picks it up and scores, natuarlly. Betts, same guy that drops the pass for the INT at our own 5 to give up another TD earlier.
One of the weirdest games I've ever watched, and I've seen some weird ones as a Saints fan, LOL.
For the 1st time this season, I'm truly worried about how good this team is.

i mean i dont believe in that, in itself, as the reason
i believe that teams prepare for the superbowl champ differently then they prepare for the average game. watching two disgusting post-superbowl seasons i definitely believe teams come out differently against them and the players on the winning team don't play with that same edge.
not to mention you need so much luck to have a successful season, even more to have a superbowl winning season. eventually the lucky 50/50 type things start going the other way

By my count, there's been 4 fumbles this game, Arizona has recovered all 4.
It's like one of those games of NCAA where you feel like EA just won't let you win.

Another Saints turnover, this one is about over.
Lovely.

LOL at the Saints ineptitude here.
We get the ball back, running the playclock down to :05 every snap with only 6 minutes left. Then we run, throw short, and run on 3rd and 1, get stuffed. 3 and out.
I'm frustrated enough watching Les miles coached football teams, I can't have the Saints also looking terrible, it's not good for my health.

LOL @ losing to the Cardinals. Unbelievable.
I was counting on those scrubs to win too so the Hawks can lead the division without playing.

Not so fast my friend.
Though, we'll need an onside kick here.
Desperation mode.

Ball game.
Sure would be nice to have those 2 straight timeouts we took inside the 10 before we through a 1 yard pass and missed a 29 yard FG.
Ah well, 3-2 it is. At least we have LSU, right?

This game really is the wackiest ever, and Wisenhunt just pulled a Les Miles.
3rd and 8, we have no timeouts with :59 left. Run teh ball, punt, and we get teh ball back with maybe :15 left.
Nope, Cardinals call a playaction pass, we force a fumble right off the reception, but naturally as this game has gone, it went out of freaking bounds. So instead of having it at midfield, they're punting now.
That was freaking nuts. What a horrible call.
Wiat, apparently the clock DOES restart after a fumbles goes otu of bounds. Of course it does, LOL.

Game set match
Cards just dropped 30 points on us without a single passing or rushing TD. Good times.
Time to go play some FIFA.

Didn't go out, your guy saved it, right to fitzgerald, who was still in bounds but short of the first down

have no fear Shel, the Saints come to Tampa next week... If Charlie Batch can take a 10 year hiatus and torch this defense than so can Brees...lol
