I no longer understand the intentional grounding rule. Is "in the grasp" gone from the rulebook? If Brady is spinning around in the midst of a sack and heaves it without possibly seeing a receiver, it's all good?

In the grasp, maybe.

But there was absolutely a WR right near each one of those throw aways.

I agree there was, but I think it was clear that in at least one of them Brady didn't have a clue where anybody was and he was 100% intentionally throwing it away. It's like they want to make it hard to play defense in the NFL or something...
