You around tonight for BF4?

After 9pm, if you want, we can both try to weed through and complete all the steps lol.
Not sure if I want it at this point with all of issues it is having with saves and such.

So here's a new one. PS4 was working fine last night. Get on it today and no video, sound though but just for a few seconds then it would stop wait a few seconds and sound would start again. Tried rebooting multiple times, safe mode, etc. Nothing worked. New hdmi cable, power supply tried it all.

Called Sony. They were Stumped as well. Started filling out the return paperwork when the guy decided to have my try hooking it up tutu a different tv. It worked. Came back to the main tv and it didn't work....

Unplugged both the PS4 and the tv for 30 seconds, plugged back in and bingo. It works again.

So...WTF?

Maybe a bad hdmi port on your tv.

This was an issue early on the with PS4s, about 10% of them.

Unplug your HDMI cord and see if your pins are bent. If so, then get a screwdriver and flatten your HDMI port on your PS4. Some of them were not flush with the unit for some reason and it was causing broken HDMI cords.

If that doesn't fix it, try a different port on the TV as Derek said it might be your HDMI port.

10%? Yeahhhh I don't think so. Failure rate was last reported at under 1%.

It's not a "failure". It was a manufacturing issue that is resolved in 5 seconds. I got the 10% number from an IGN report. But again, wasn't that hard to fix so it wasn't a real "problem".

Link? Articles I've read have all counted the HDMI problems in the failure rate. 10% would be a huge news story with how any units have sold from the first batch of consoles.

Exactly. And no way your average consumer finds out how to fix the problem and doesn't send it back to Sony. Even if I had got one with the jacked up HDMI port I would send it back for a new one rather then mess with it. System fails to display=failure.

http://m.ign.com/articles/2013/11/15/ps ... al-in-port

IGN article from Chris Perreira quotes Sony as saying I believe .4% of ps4s, but that's for all issues combined.

 You guys missed what I was saying I believe. After unplugging tv and PS4 from power then plugging them both back in it worked. Switching out hdmi cables and trying different ports didn't work.

If you guys are looking to sell your PS4 games instead of trading them in, try eBay.

Ive sold 2 for $60 each already and have been fast payers.

Still have zero idea why they dont just download them or go to a store and get them on their own but I will take it.

It will be, but it won't be out until early 2014 after it was delayed prior to launch.

This decision also affects PlayStation Plus members’ Instant Game Collection for launch. To be clear, DRIVECLUB PlayStation Plus Edition will still be part of the Instant Game Collection when it is released. For the PS4 launch, in addition to Resogun, I’m pleased to announce that Contrast, the highly anticipated game from Compulsion Games will also be available to PlayStation Plus members for free as part of Instant Game Collection. If you’re not aware of Contrast, it will whisk you away to a surreal vaudevillian, film-noir inspired reality full of performance, intrigue, shadow-play and drama. Please check out the trailer below. I’m sure you’ll agree that it is unlike anything you will have played before.
