Re: NFL Thread
thank god the Rams have jeff fisher now. It feels weird seeing a defensive St.Louis team. bradford looks a lottt better too, he needs weapons though. Hopefully someone other than Amendola steps up

Re: NFL Thread
I think it's a big factor. I know some on here think that the head coach is over rated and coaches in general but I think it definitely is playing a point in new Orleans. Correct me if I'm wrong but their d was amazing one year in takeaways but have always been mediocre, nothing great. That's nothing new this year but like shel has said they make stupid mistakes at terrible times and it has already cost them 2 or 3 games.steelcitychaos wrote:Cnasty wrote:0-4, ouch
Watched a couple of sports shows and how much of the 0-4 record is because of Payton not being around? We watch all the saints games because my wife is a saints fan, but that defense hasnt been able to stop anyone when they needed to. They just dont have the personel to get it done.
Re: NFL Thread
i don't know anyone that said coaching didn't matter in football.
i have said in the past that a great QB is far more important than a great coach. but my 'coaching doesn't matter' opinion is mostly just NBA and MLB (other than putting in the right players). even college hoops a coach can matter alot.
football is far different than other sports... so many different moving parts and factors go into every play. not to mention 15 great plays in a row can be overcome by 1 bad play, something that isn't true of other sports.

Re: NFL Thread
I completely agree. There are absolutely zero playmakers on that side of the ball. Curtis Lofton a great pick up? I have yet to see it, however he does look to be the best player on D. Corey White, rookie DB, burned continuously. Jabari Greer, Patrick Robinson, Roman Harper, Abdul Quduus (sp), and Johnny Patrick are all so bad in the defensive back field, they continue to look lost play after play. Why the hell was Scott Shanle on a fuggin WR? Hes bad too. And the defensive pass rush? What pass rush? Will Smith got his suspension over turned, for what? Produce muthafucca! Cam Jordan and Martez Wilson, two draft busts so far, although they do need time to develop.steelcitychaos wrote:Cnasty wrote:0-4, ouch

I have yet to see why Steve Spagnulo was supposed to be the Saints savior. His STL defense was 26th over all in yards allowed per game last year. Thats bottom tier. Wtf? If the Saints are losing cause of no Sean Payton then i would be very surprised. Those fools know the playbooks and offensive schemes, especially Drew Brees. Ohhhhh Drew, another hot topic. Has he looked like himself from years past this season? No, why? Cause he is prolly too over worked by his sex crazed, baby making wife. 2 kids in the last 3 years plus his first born was a few years before that. Lol idk about Brees. All he can think about out there is prolly, " how much am i going to have to put out when i get home this evening?"

But his team is 0-4. Thats the reality. Bad defense, lost souls. Oh, and a fat kicker who hasnt seemed to put it all together after his injury and surgery. The list of wrongness goes on and on. Its very hard for us Saints fans to keep a positive outlook on this season, but we do. Who Dat!
Re: NFL Thread
my only opinions on football is that the best players aren't always the best players because they can be in situations that don't compliment them.... while guys who aren't the most talented can be far more successful based on the situation they are thrown into.Cnasty wrote:Didn't know your exclusion was the nfl, good to know and I agree.
i also think the player who has the ball the most is the most important... obviously the QB.
and i think people punt far too much.
thats about all i got on football.
