Haven't really played in almost two years, going to the range tomorrow to get back into the swing of things. My new company has a small golf scramble in the summer so I need to get to where I don't play like a total fool.

May be in the market for a new (not too expensive) driver as well

If theres an appropriate time to play like a total fool, a company scramble would seem to be it

I always play like a total fool, but try to play my best all at the same time.

By "total fool", I mean topping my drives and hitting them 20 yards

Correct, in which case its cool to play your teammates shot 200 yards up in the fairway!

I'll take it a step further for anyone interested... I got the golfpad tabs last year... they sell for $100, but they are out of stock on the site. If you want the tabs, I'll sell them to anyone on here for $40. I think the app is free, but you can buy an upgraded version of the app for $10-$20.

I tried them and I couldn't get into the groove of using them consistently.

I played my first round today... haven't even been to the range... not great, 52/51, 103 total from the blues (probably should have played whites for the first time out, but the other 2 guys with are going full go). Had 2 highlights of the round, a 298yd drive on a 329 par 4, slightly uphill (yeah, par haha... story of my life) and on the par 5 18th, which is probably the hardest par 5 in the area, I had an eagle putt that I missed by just over a 1'. It's a crazy dogleg left, uphill to the dogleg, then back downhill to an incredibly guarded, long and narrow green. I've actually never even birdied this hole and I've played it at least 10x. I hit about a 280yd drive that went just through the fairway and ended up about 5' right of a trap on the outside of the corner. Then I smashed my 3h 265, ending up roughly 12' short of the cup, but on a really good line. For the first round out, I'll definitely take it.

Not sure if you can see this or not... I didn't record any other shots than that 1 drive because we knew it was crushed and we wanted to see how far it was. Disregard the traveling around with the blue lines, I just put in the scores and I had a lefty riding with me and we really weren't playing cart golf today, lol.

The problem is when the serious distance doesn't go straight... hence the back 9! :-P

The U.S. Open this week is going to be bonkers! Can't wait to see these guys try to navigate this course and these conditions.

This handling of DJ is a total joke. I can't believe the USGA can be so stupid. No idea who is winning with a few holes to go? I already was but now I am REALLY rooting for DJ.

They notified him on 12 they will review his ball moving on the 5th hole to determine if he gets a 1 shot penalty or not. So basically he has to think about that the last 7 holes and nobody knows who is actually leading or what number.

Golf is weird. Why couldn't they quickly review it and make a call?

Good to see he'll win anyway, it seems.

I could watch Paulina walk from the 18th to the clubhouse all night...

Definitely glad it became a non factor. DJ really had to shake the demons from previous majors and then some. We all love watching Paulina
