Texas is 10-0 as of Tues. 3/3/09
Came from behind in the 8th to beat Texas State(a very respectable team BTW)
won 5-3 with late inning clutch hitting.

Nice.
That's part of the reason why I dont like LSU playing ONLY scrubs before conference play.
Granted, they'll probably slip up and lose a couple, but they just won't be tested enough before you'd like before conference play.
But I guess that could also be seen as nitpicking, lol.

Shel, LSU has been destroying teams this year, beat UNO 19-3 today I think, and the combined score of the weekend series vs UCF was 40-6.

Canes completed a nice 3 game sweep of the Gates in Gainesville.
This team is so super young, I am impressed they are even doing this well.

baseball is one of the few sports where if you're talented in college, the experience thing isnt as big of a deal.
most of the studs throughout college baseball are frosh and sophomores... with a few stud juniors sprinked in
i watched the series against UF and i was pretty impressed by UM, enough that i'm going to make an effort to go watch a couple games this year

You should Dave. The Light is an awesome little field and the food is AMAZING. Great atmosphere to catch a game.
Packsy, Feisty was actually very congratulatory and IMed me a lot during the series. I was very impressed.

was very happy that UGA went out and swept Arizona. They are usually pretty strong squad, and UGA tends to have one bad year, one good, so hopefully that trend will stop and get more consistent.

LSU finally took there 1st loss after a 9-0 start.
They lost to Illinois Friday night, 3-1.
However they bounced back Saturday night by beating Illinois 22-10, and hitting 3 grand slams in 1 game.

Now's a good time to revive this thread, with conference tournies in full swing.
LSU took the regular season SEC championship and promptly lost 4-1 against Vandy in the 1st round of the SEC Tourney.
We have 2 ace pitchers which is good for postseason, but we can't hit lefties to save our lives, which is why Vandy beat us.
LSU is 27-3 when a righty starts and 14-13 when a lefty starts.

That will eventually be our demise.

Indiana had a solid season. Things are really starting to look bright for the future of IU baseball after so many years of pseudo-dormancy. After finishing third in the Big Ten they knocked off the Pukes yesterday in the first round of the conference tourney. Go Hoosiers!

Dawgs had a huge meltdown the last 1/3 of the season after being ranked #1 regularly in first half of season. Alot can be contributed to having to depend on some freshmen, who may have hit the "proverbial" wall. Lost like 11 of last 12, but won first game in SEC tourney over Ole Miss. Hopefully getting a win will help them get things going again.

The Hoosiers are going down!
It should be a good game. I was going to go watch it tonight but of course the wife had all ready made plans.
